does anyone sell just the gasket for the oil pump?

Not likely, but your favorite auto parts store probably sells 12" x 12" sheets of various gasket material thicknesses and materials for really cheap. You can trace the outline of the gasket onto the universal sheet and cut one out using a sharp X-acto knife. I make most of my gaskets this way now.

the only gasket I remember for the oil pump was the o-ring which went in the rear main cap?

is required. if you take off the 4 bolts theres a gasket there. if you use no gasket, the oil pump wont spin (and of course be sealed..). the gasket seals and gives just enough room for the gears to turn in there

I have to agree with Indiana_resto_guy. The oil pump on my 86 2.8 died and I replaced it with TFS unit. There was no gasket at the time I removed the original pump from the engine. Also, the pressure was fine after the install of the new unit without a gasket.

There is no gasket between the oil pump and the engine - HOWEVER - if you take apart the oil pump, there is a gasket. I noticed that Rockauto sells a oil pump repair kit, so this should include the gasket - I have no idea as I didn't buy one, but there were only a few left at the time I last looked...
