Anyone have suggestions for wheels for an IMSA widebody. Need really wide rear wheels with offset. I have an 85 with widebody with Centerlines which I just purchased and appaarently the old rims have gone bad and are leaking air around rivets. Help!

I have 17 inch TRW wheels on my IMSA widebody, but with a 2 inch spacer on the rears. I have looked for wheels that would work, but found very few with the Fiero bolt pattern so I can eliminate the spacer. I came up blank and don't want to spend $$$ for custom made wheels.

You can do measurements on your car and see if these will fit. 17x10 Miro wheels in the 5x100 bolt pattern. Check the offsets: http://www.mirowheels.com/STP1.html
Call Louie @ Centerline wheels in CA. He made a set for my IMSA with the correct backspace, bolt pattern, are ISF-15 track approved, DOT approved, and didn't cost much. They are rotary forged from a single billet of aluminum and about 8# lighter than the previous AR wheels that IRM put on. Mine are 15x8 front and 15x10 rears ( with 295 tires ). He can make an 11" rear also. Besides it's nice to buy American and give the work to good people.

Do you mind if I ask what price range they were? This may be a good option cause I have good rubber all around and if I go to 17 then I have the new tire costs as well.

Are you going to sell the old ones? I would like to possibly keep them around in-case mine ever get damaged thet is if the rears are 10 and the fronts are 9? They are the ones on my car below correct?? Thanks,,Rick
They cost $982.00 for the set including chrome lug nuts and freight to PA. Mine are the #723 Rev http://centerlinewheels.com..._wheel.php?mw_id=117 And looking ahead to when the 15" wide rear tires aren't available, Louie can make this same style in a 17"x11". Wrap this with a Goodyear 315/35ZR17 and the overall height drops 1 " vs the current Firehawk 295/50R15 . But as you say then we are into costs for both wheels and tires.

Rick and any other interested folks.
I've got a set of the Centerlines you're referring to in the above quoted post. As it turns out, I may not be needing these wider Centerline wheels. I would consider selling them but, would much more prefer to find a set of Centerlines that are the same 15 inch diameter but not as wide. What can I say, things change.
Edited: Gonna have to go out and measure, now that I think about it, these are most likely 16 inch wheels. IIRC, they are 10 inches wide in the rear and 8 inches wide for the fronts.

Please note that you can go outside Centerline and get the wheels you need made often at a cheaper price.
Most Centerline wheels over 16 inch are made on demand as they do not stock them. It cuts their cost of inventory and they can make the wheels to what bolt pattern and offset you need. This is a daily thing and is nothing special.
All you need to do is call Summit or Jegs and order the wheels in the spec you need. Not sure here but often buying direct can be more expensive and getting a wheel like this is not difficult for a vendor to do often at a cheaper price. Note I did not say cheap. Today a average good wheel will start at
Note of caution as wheels from Centerline at times can take time to make. They get done faster in the fall vs spring. It can take 2-4 weeks in Oct but 2 months in May. So don't order at the last min that you need them. If you call Louie he often will give you a time that seldom is accurate depending on the time of year.

To find out your backspace: lay the wheel face down / span the edges of the wheel with anything straight / measure the depth between this and where the wheel mounts. Mine were 6" for the rear. You can also google " how to measure backspace" .
Louie can be reached via email or phone from the information in the Centerline website.
