I'm very unhappy to pass on the news that after almost 10 months of battling cancer Kris Munson has passed away. Kris was a great friend, and one heck of a great Fiero enthusiast. Following is his obituary

Kris A. Munson, Sr., age 54, of Reddick, FL passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011. He was born in The Dalles, OR on November 29, 1956. Kris was raised in Massena, NY. He served in the military for eight years, four years in the US Army and four years in the National Guard. He worked as an Automotive Technician. His hobbies included fixing cars. Kris was a member of the Space Coast Fiero Club. He was a member of Church at the Springs in Ocala, FL. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Audrey Pierce Munson of Reddick, FL; son Kris A. (Rachael) Munson, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; mother Patricia Munson of Kingston, TN; sister Patrice Bullen of Kingston, TN and sister Denise (Mike) Strunk of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father William E. Munson; brother in law Colin Bullen. A funeral service will be held Church at the Springs, 5424 SE 58th Ave, Ocala, FL 34480 on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11am. A visitation will also take place at the church on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. A private interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church at the Springs building fund in memory of Kris A. Munson, Sr. Arrangements are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (www.hiers-baxley.com).

I know that I will miss Kris very much, as will my fellow club members, and others in the Fiero world.

Kris was one heck of a guy and one of the best fiero enthusiasts out there.

Terrible loss for us all. Best wishes and prayers to his family.

Our hearts and prayers are working overtime tonight. Kris was a true friend. We will miss his smiling face at all the Fiero events that we attended together along with all the trips that we all made as part of Spacecoast Fieros. We will always have Kris and Audrey in our thoughts.

It is a sad day in our house tonight.

Ron & Pat Hale

Saddened by this news !!! I only knew Kris from swapping some e-mails back / forth and purchasing flush mount lamp kit from him. He was a real straight up guy and you knew exactly what you were getting from him.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Wow....that is very sad news. I didn't know he was sick! I met Kris about 8 years ago when I was selling a maroon T-Top Formula that had 112 miles. He and his wife Audrey drove up to Denver from Florida to tow it home in June 2003 (I can't believe it was that long ago). He was a very nice guy and excited to own that Formula.

My deepest condolences to his wife, family & friends. RIP Kris.

Condolences to his wife and family.

Only met Kris once at Daytona, spent a good deal of time going over his car, which he answered any and all questions about.

Very talented, stand up guy. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Very sad about a big loss for the Fiero community.

I've been around Fieros for a long time & I can't remember when the name Munson wasn't among the top ten names in the Fiero world.

He will be missed.

Sad news for sure. 54 is just too young. In Frazee this summer, I had breakfast with MinnGreenGT. The day before I admired his car and asked him where he picked up the cool front turn signal covers. About a month ago, in response to an e-mail, he provided Kris's e-mail address and some very kind words about him. I fiddled with my GT over the weekend and reminded myself to get in touch with Kris; I needed those cool covers. So first thing this morning, I sent an e-mail to Kris's e-mail address and THEN checked PFF. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw "Kris Munson" as the lead topic and then to read he had passed at 54.....not 5 minutes after sending the e-mail! I only knew him by his good reputation. He, his family and friends will be in my thoughts.

major bummer...

I got to meet Kris Munson once, during a tech session at Dragon's place. He seemed like a pretty decent guy. He also did a lot of good for the Fiero community.

I am very sad to hear the passing of Kris. Honestly I didn't open this thread because I thought it was a complaint thread and I couldn't stand to see someone bashing a good man.
