If we could arange one at Whodeanies, which wouldn't be on TV mind you, would anyone be up for a Fri Sat Sun OVERHAULIN of a loaded 1984 SE? Rust free car and parts provided but we need the muscle. The car that I was donating to a local family...well it is losing its parking place...their house is being repossessed! I need to get it done and can't do it slowly anymore. I don't have the expertise or experience that Dean has either. I spoke with him about it and laid the groundwork on the idea but we would still need some muscle. Would anyone be up for it in either Nov or Dec? I will tow it up to the shop, get with Dean, and create a list of all needed items that weren't donated. If someone wants o donate that would be awesome put if not I am going to have to get them. I want to get this car done before they lose their house. No solid date yet and I will schedule around the holidays. Just trying to get a feel.

I'm in. I have a couple 84 parts cars I can donate parts from...but nothing new to donate parts from. I'm real good with the wiring on the 84s (they are different from other years), and can assist in most other areas as well. What kind of work will it need?

It runs pretty darm smooth. It shifts smoother than my Indy does! I will go ahead and put new belts on it and change the oil before it goes up. It runs hot very quickly and we have yet to tear into that problem. The rear brake lines came apart the first time we drove it. They were rotted through so I bought some SS lines from TFS for $100. I know there are a few bolts missing from the valve cover as well. I have degreased the engine bay with Purple Power and cleaned up the interior as best I can. I also gathered parts through some donations and some I bought. It really needs to be gone through thoroughly by people with far more knowledge than I have. I'll get it up there and have a go through with Dean so we can get a good list and I can buy parts. The other stuff we can't purchase new...I have some but your offer is a great one as well. Maybe between a few of us we can come up with all we need. I found it sad that the 16 year old is encountering the impacts of the recession through the losses his parents are experiencing. I cannot imagine the feeling of loosing my home and the psycological impacts that would accompany.

Ive also got some '84 parts I will be glad to donate. Nothing new except maybe a few hoses that are not labled. So part numbers would be needed, I got the hoses for several different applications from TFF several years ago and didn't use 'em all.

I am sure with what I have here as well as a few other people in the area we can come up with all the parts we will need. the main thing we will need is people to help out. my crew will be on hand to handle as much as we can but we are on a time line with other projects as well so we will need to work fast to get this one done.

If you can get some dates in mind... My daughter has a bunch of cheerleading competions coming up, but maybe if it does not conflict with those dates I can lend a hand... I have been nose deep in my 84 with wiring and suspension lately... maybe some of that can come in handy. No good parts to donate as my INDY has been a total basket case from day one and most of what came off was bad. I have yet to get a decent stock pile from junk yard trips.

the car is on the way to me now. we will be looking it over to see what all it is going to need and start getting all the parts together before we set a date. we may also try to get some of it done before hand so it will not take as long. I will keep you all posted. D.
Does anyone have a preference on dates? I am trying to diconflict the holidays from the date.
So I have had my daughter get hurt so who knows with the cheer dates... UGH! I have a mother in law visting Nov. 18-22 and an out of town cheer competion Dec 9-12 (if the daughter can heal in time) Thats all I got so far... the spouse is checking the other dates...

This week I sent the Indy up for a timing gear change and the Joel Project so Dean could get a handle on where we are at and what needs done. As you all may know the family's house is in forclosure and I am not about to let a kid go without a car, bank be damned!!!
The should arrive this Friday as the truck broke down in Auburn on the way.

I brought this up at the Georgia Fiero meeting, yesterday. Several said they would be willing to help. Do you have a firm date? We can't do on Dec. 10, since that's the day of the club Christmas Party.

No date as of yet. Dean is going to go through the car and see where we are at. Unfortnately the hauling company had the truck break down in Auburn so it hasn't arrived at Whodeanies. Rescue truck on way on Monday.

Depending upon the date, I'm in. I have the last two weeks of December off. I'll be busy at first, but will have lots of free time, closer to New Years.

That's considered a commercial vehicle that exceeds the weight and length limits for being in our residential districts. I've checked out all the business parks, truck parking lots and businesses where it might be parked. No could find. I did check 2 transport locations and only found one transporter registered to Brisk Transport Solutions, but no Fieros.
Was that picture taken in Auburn? If so, it's outside the city and I might know where it's located. There's only one area where we have the type power poles shown in the background.
Never mind. Just saw your loading them up thread with the same pic.

If you wind up being short handed, let me know. I could fly up to Atlanta for fairly cheap. If you have a lot of help, there would be no need, BUT if you are short handed, I am more than willing to fly up and help with what ever I can.

Johnyrottin: do you wanna adopt an 86 GT for a year or so?
Be careful of the "overhaulin" thing. I think its cursed. Shortly after the Rallaster overhaul. Fieroguy123 had to sell his car, mine is on the chopping block, datacop is hurtin.havent heard from the rest. Please be careful!

Whodeanie, do you have a block and heads, or do you have a complete motor? I have a motor with everything on it that I could donate for all the bolt-on stuff. The motor is toast and I have nowhere to store the rest of the stuff.

So, where does everything stand now? Do you have people lined up, if so, how many, what parts are needed, Has a date been picked to work on the car? basically an update on everything I guess

Right now Dean and crew are going to go through the car and see where it is at. He will make a list a see what we need to get it going. We now have a donated low mile 2.8 V6 so we can plan the 2.5 original or the 2.8 swap. I dropped all the parts off that I had but forgot the seat covers. I also have a powder coated plenum and original throttlebody to replace the Truleo. I will take a few more bits to Dean this weekend.
