So I will be missing for a few hours in the AM, but I will bring a second set of hands...Whatcha think?
Don Hulse will either be riding up with me, or will at least be part of the convoy. We're not going to get there at the crack of dawn either, but we will be bringing a buttload (or at least a partial truckload) of parts.

We are having a bit of a debate at the house... If I come alone I can be there first thing in the AM when you guys get rolling. But the spouse has an eye appointment at 9 and has to get dilated & she does not have a ride home... She normally can't see to drive after. So if I take her & bring her home then she can come and help out too...
She is convinced herself however, that she will be just be in the way and does not have the technical ability to help. I say there has to be something she can help with (she has more ability then she lets on)...
So I will be missing for a few hours in the AM, but I will bring a second set of hands...Whatcha think?
lol... she is trying to find a mall near by... I'm like no you will be able to help...
As it is, I'm not sure what exactly I can do to help... LOL I told her, I guess when we get there we will see what all we will be doing and what we can do to help!

A "go-fer" is essential. "go for this, go for that" coffee, tools, rags... Etc etc... On the rallaster overhaul we had bobby's kids and bobby's next door neighbor. Saves a ton of time and super helpful!
Or... Now you have somebody to take pictures and video and not interrupt the build!

Sure wish I could make it down for this, not gonna happen this time.
To redraif: a gopher if ESSENTIAL to any project, especially one of this nature, where more than a couple people are gathered who've never (or rarely) been together before, trying to accomplish a common goal. Tell her she HAS to come, she's NEEDED!
Looking forward to progress reports and plenty of pictures to document the whole deal!
12 Hours and no update? No pictures? No pleading for help? What's going on down there? Are they all working? No that can't be it. They all must have forgotten their forum passwords. Kidnapped! Somewhere in Florida there is a building surrounded by Fieros. In the center of the building there are Fiero parts scattered about and not a soul in site.....mass kidnapping for sure. Anyone have any other solutions to this mystery?

We did the rallaster build in 2.5 days with max 7 people but normally 5. This aught to be interesting.
So wish I could have made it down for this one!
There were actually too many people there to work on the car all at once. I spent a great deal of time being in the way, or trying to get the heck out of the way. I cleaned a few interior panels, helped with the headlights and front compartment stuff, and salivated over some of Dean's other ongoing projects. Other folks did all the real work. The '84 coupe seems to be in amazingly good condition, and ought to be really nice once it's completed.
Also, I will never again say that you can't put a V6 in an '84. or that it's not worth the trouble. This car is living proof. It's also proof that there's absolutely no substitute for knowing what you're doing. Dean's guys certainly do. ------------------ Raydar 88 Formula IMSA Fastback. 4.9, NVG T550

friday we got started here at the shop we got the area cleaned up and started pulling the interior as well as re covered the seats. we had other things we were working on as well but then came yesterday, it was great all the people that showed up with loads of parts. it was like open house on crack! it may take me a mounth to find all my tools again but it is for a good cause
almost all the stuff that takes real time was done.
Due wipes, sun roof seal, brakes, clean interior, wire up the inside of the car and install the top of the engine, pulled out old AC lines and coolant tube as well as reinstalled, painted chassis, re build head lights, cleaned and rebuilt tail lights, droped fuel tank. and the list goes on and on.
at times it was a mad house but I love to see everyone come together for this it makes me feel great to be a part of this crazy fiero thing
Ok, enough BS, I have to get going now back to the shop to finish up. I will try to get someone to post up pics as we go today. D.

Greetings all! Its 0730 local here and I am just jumping up to grab some grub before darting over to Dean's. We made a great deal of progress on the car yesterday. The teadious grunt work is what I would call it. All the tearing it apart, rebuilding, sanding, grinding, priming, painting, cleaning, polishing, etc. I can't believe how such small things make such a great impact. Dennis was taking pictures all day and he has departed for home in Florida so hopefully he will be posting up a ton today. JohnWPB (which I always thought stood for WhipPingBoy...he says West Palm Beach but I like mine better...LOL) took the time lapse photos all day. There were some parts we came up with needing. One of which was door panel screws...we need 14 new ones. I will post a list up later as it was kept at the shop. I want to thank everyone that came as it was definitely an ant hill yesterday. Not everyone was hands on with the car but like any great dead everyone took part. There was an aweful lot of scrobbing and cleaning going on away from the car that is imperative to do. One member of German decent made the most amazing German cakes! Coffee as well! It was awesome and sooooo apreciated. Things like that often go unmentioned but I don't want anyones help to go unappreciated. I'll give a good update when we get home and I will try to take photos today so we can see the Sunday progress.

There may be some. Most of what's in progress has already been documented in other threads, however.
Having said that, I know of several people who were taking pictures. It probably will be some time before they're posted, however. They are presently traveling.
There is a little bit of work that needs to be done before the engine is started. Coolant/heater hoses, and a few other details. Probably won't happen before tomorrow night.
Posted this last night on the ga fiero club site, but missed putting it here.

so far so good. we stayed till about 9pm. got to meet some awesome folks who amazed me with their abilities in putting this car together. today i spent the day helping polish taillights. As of right now they look like new lens.
and i posting from my newly upgraded hp touchpad now using android and its running fast now that its over clocked! thank you John...
cant wait to see everyones pics from the build!
Car was looking good when I left last night... Got a few pics, but it was hard to really document it all as so much was going on. I had never been to Dean's so I got a tour and even got to crawl around in the parts attic... lol... thats when I got sucked in... go find a good taillight... in the end it was part of this on and that one and we had a good set. then the polishing started. Never give me a part that can be shined up, cause then its on! I want it like a mirror when I'm done. I jumped on the taillights with JohnWPB and the project took on a life of its own. Just trying to get them acceptable (scratches out) took 1200 sandpaper, then 2000, and then a buffer with a plastic polish... when JohnWPB and I were done they looked like new! Of course in my usually fashion I pushed to get them as close to perfect as possible... I can't leave it alone... like an obsession almost... lol. If any of you guys have seen my firebird's engine bay you understand what I mean!
I will try to get some pics up soon... Just running around today getting the Daughter to Cheerleading and such!... can't wait to see pics from today as i had to be absent...

Just getting settled after getting home at 1am. Going to work was an EXTREME struggle today! I could barely walk when I got out of bed this morning. Standing on COLD concrete for a total of around 30 hours in 3 days takes it's toll on previous broken ankles haha!
I will get the pictures and video dumped to the computer in the next day or so and post em up.

I know you had to leave before they were 100% completed.... just wait till ya see the pictures of them after the masking tape you and I put on them, and they were all painted up. The one that fish-eyed due to a combination of the humidity, cold, and polished plastic, was redone and came out looking like they came from the factory!!
