I plan to have my GT painted this summer. I'm thinking like a gunmetal/charcoal color. Does anyone have this color? I want to get some idea of what it will look like, and what color rims go good with it. Also, paint the trim, or leave it black?
Thanks

I love Whodeanie's car...

but my favorite has to be Fie Ro's car. The color has to be absolutely perfect for the modifications done to the car. I guess honestly it's more silver in color that you probably asked, but it's a darker silver, so it gets kind of close to being gunmetal/gray-ish.

Notice both Fie Ro's and Whodeanie's cars have a painted belt line.

I agree. Fie Ro's car is awesome, too. He have me a ride in it years ago when I went up to the Netherlands to get his help on my hood scoop. It wasn't painted yet, though.

A club member's '86 GT. It's painted F-Body pewter metallic. Perhaps a bit lighter than you were looking for.

Up until this very moment, I had my mind made up that any Silver Fiero of mine would be the Pewter Metallic from the 4th Gen Firebird... but that Stealth Gray Metallic has just changed my mind. Damn sexy color.

My cars are already painted,so I have nothing to add to this discussion. Except to ask ManMadeChickens where did he get that username?

Thanks!
You should know that before I chose that color, Pewter Metallic was also an option (had a Sonoma the same color) as was Graystone Metallic.
Also check out Barbados Blue. It was a 2004 GTO color. Very similar to Stealth Gray. Pics don't do it justice, but it's 3 stage and fairly expensive.

Try this color and tell me what you think. It is the basic Toyota E9 color with pearl added.

I think those last two colors are what I had in my head. Maybe even a little darker.

It's from an old cult film "Eraserhead." It's a very odd film. At one point, the main character says "We're having chicken for dinner tonight. Man-Made Chickens. Strangest darn things, about the size of your fist." I always thought it was kind of a silly concept, and a funny user name. I made the account in 2006 I believe, and lurked for a bunch of years.

Thank you, but it has the 10 ft rule. Up close it has a ton of imperfections that drive me nuts. Not really changing the permenant color, I am wrapping the car in vinyl Gloss Black.

I just want the car to look new again on the exterior. The paint was done in a garage or something. Tons of garbage in the paint and it's flaking around the edges. I want it to be close to Fiero Show looking. Doesn't have to be perfect but better than what it is now.

But thank you for the compliment.

I love the gunmetal look on Fieros. Wish it came in a Satin look, but those are damn near impossible to paint. Hence these colors being primarily on Lamborghinis.

You can get that Satin Gray with a vinyl wrap.

A vinyl wrap will do a matte color, but not satin. Satin has a bit of a sheen to it.

kind of. All the factory satin Lamborghini's that are painted are satin. (like the blue one in the picture I posted) The black one may be a wrap.

Satin's easy, just find a color you want, and paint it satin.
