On another note, I found a new billet wheel manufacturer by the name of Intro Wheels.

They make a wheel called the Phantom, and I think I love it.

Here it is:

What do you guys think?

Hey Curl, how much extra width do those fenders give you?

And, I assume, that will still not be enough. are you customizing the suspension?

I think you guys missed the part where he mentioned these are for "TroyBoy" another member on here. He is using 20" rims, those massive tires and that widebody IMSA kit. I believe the car is still at archies. It should look pretty darn good in the end.

The IMSA fenders give you about 3" over stock, plus Archie had to open them up for the 20's.

Archie will do one more mod to the fenders to give me about 5" over stock, the 345's are 13" in width. So the IMSA wide body will become wider

Madcurl paying a visit to Jim's Custom Auto in Oakland, CA.

Goodies everywhere ! Excuse my drool.

The task of the day was to take some measurements for an impending order.

If your spending that kind of money on wheels you have to get it right !! hehehe.

Quick question.......what exactly is the process for getting custom made rims? How long does it take also?

1. A good shop that sells custom rims
2. measure once, measure twice, measure three times! ( for offset and clearance) best to have it done by a professional because if you do the measuring and it's wrong, you will still have to pay for the rims.
3. $$$$
4. A good friend that has multiple sets of HRE's for a reference point.
5. and finally it can take up to 4 - 6 weeks

A couple of missed tidbits from Madcurl's visit to Jim's Custom Auto in Oakland.

Forgot to mention this monster was 22 x 11.

A shot of the regular (non HRE, hehehe) wall where us broke folks might shop.

Thanks Tony for posting pics. I need to stay away from "Candyland" especially after viewing the P.I.A.A rims with it's deep dish. The Foose rims looked very nice too.

I have a set of bbs rims that I want to put on my fiero and I don't think they will fit, they are 17x9 with 275/55 so will these fit my car with stock suspension but I will probly use 1 inch spacers.

Thanks Tony for posting pics.

The tire changer is somewhat different than your usual rim/tire changer. As you can see, it uses (4) mechanical rubber padded arms that push outward in all directions against the inside of the rim w/o touch or damaging the chrome/painted finish. Although, experience shop guys can and do use the old system-----the boss at Pacific Tire in BAK insist that they use this one.

A 20x11 on a Fiero was once thought of as "pipe dream"----since then that is old new. The History book is in need of an up-date. Presenting......20x12.

Troyboy's HRE 541 20x12

Yes, it's a very, very phat world.

Getting her ready.

Getting them on

Oh yeah !

5/8" worth of clearance between the wheel and the rear strut.
