Yes, as I look the last time I mentioned it was June 2005, still been working on it. As I continue to gather more data, it is still a grassroots project. For you newbies post 2005, just go to the archieves and type in t-top book. No sense rehashing it here again. But as for the milestone of the 1252 CJB t-top cars produced, I have only 49 Models left to figure out, 104 colors left , that is the good news, but half of the 88 production run of trans. and interior color for the 88 t-tops to go. So keep sending me your 88 t-top information. Many people that I have shown this to are excited, I realize I will not get 100% of the data, unless Pontiac Historic Society gives me access to their records. I would like to have it almost completed by 25th anniversary. with * NA for not available at printing time. Vin#, exterior color, interior color, trans, seat for GT cloth, leather or power lumbar.
As you can see by the original post at the top, I did not have a complete book yet, but I did let some people at the 25th Fiero Show see what I had already and they were pleased Still need to figure out 48 models and 97 colors, so if you have a 88 t-top fiero and can provide the information I am looking for above you can pm me or email podziemj@matc.edu

PHS has always been stingy with their records. I've never been able to understand why a "historical society" is secretive about history.

That's an easy one to answer .. Jim Mattison (PHS) will provide you with as much information as you are willing to pay for. They are by no means philanthropists.

I thought I would bring this post to the top, since if you look at the post it is from feb, 2007 and I know we have gotten some new members that may not know about this or know someone who has a 88 T-topp fiero and just to let you know this is a grassroots project (meaning)in 2007 I needed 49-models, now (2009) I only need 48 models, In 2007 I needed to figure out 104 colors, in 2009 I need to figure out only 99 more colors. as far as transmissions and GT seat I am still at about half way there as well.. So keep them coming. Here is my email if you do not want to post on here. podziemj@matc.edu
Thank you to all that keep sending me your information, some of them I didn't have and some I need more information, I emailed everyone that I need more information from.

Hi John, I called and talked with you about a month ago concerning a Black '88 GT T-Top car in Bristol, TN. I did end up purchasing the car, and just wanted to say thanks for your valuable insight and assistance with all the questions. You should have most all the info about this car since we covered the VIN on it, but I'd like to converse with you again in the future just to make sure I've got all the facts & dates right about it. I think your T-Top registry and information gathering is going to be a great resource for the entire Fiero community, and I'm glad to say that after 24 years of driving my first Fiero I'm finally an owner myself. I'm really enjoying this car...

Axdrenalin, your car looks as great as you described it! I am glad you enjoyed all the detailed information I had on your 1988 Fiero T-top. Also thanks for all the kinda words to "everyone" I am glad that my passion for 88 t-top Fieros helps the Fiero Community manintain a piece of valuable history! Plus a special Thanks to N.I.F.E. they just released their latest issue of Fiero Focus, where they published a featured article on the 88 Fiero T-top and a little history on the T-top project, prior to the 88 option. The article I wrote has some great pictures as well (3 pages worth) Thank you to them, it has been a major promotion for me (especially since this has been a grassroots project) and my quest to get this book done. I have gotten 4 new owners that have contacted me with their information, since the issue came out!!! Fiero John-WI podziemj@matc.edu

Also you mentioned that only 299 Formulas were T-Tops, I know mine was 689 in the run but what # Formula was it?

Kento, I have been working on that as well for the book, I think people would find it to be another great feature in the book, but still working on figuring out 47 more vin# (and it is not as easy as one may think) But I am glad us T-top owners think a like!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been bitten, and I'm very interested in learning a lot more about the history behind the Fiero. Ever since I brought my car home, I find myself browsing the forums here (and the web) wanting to learn more. I'm already talking about getting a second one, and have found several I'd like to have. I think that I'd like to get one that needs some TLC just so I can get together with my 12 year old son and start working on it together. Then I wouldn't feel so bad about taking panels off a nice looking car and replacing them with modded ones!
Let me know on how to obtain a copy of that issue you've mentioned...

This is a bit of a tangent for your purposes, but check out the 88 GT T-top that recently sold in the mall. It was not an original car. It was painted mint green, but looked very good in the pics.
The really special thing about this car is that it did not have the black plastic trim pieces between the T-top glass and the rear clip. The glass extended all the way back to the rear clip.
I have only (maybe) seen pictures of one other car that had this setup. Looks to be a very early production kit, that was retrofitted. Wish I could have picked up the car.

FIERO JOHN-WI, would you know who the previous owner was of my black T-Top 88 Fiero GT VIN 1G2PG1197JP210413 as noted earlier in this post with pictures? Thank you again for hooking me up with Wayne Kitzerow for my silver 88 Fiero GT. Best regards, John
