No offence, but anything archie that means really getting into the car like front end conversions and body kits do not look right without a chop top done on them.
I have to say that Clay's car is awesome, I got to look it over at the Dells Run... from the rear hatch to the funcional carbon fiber quarter window scoop air intakes. That hatch closes solid and is very sturdy. Looks like a great product.
Also that wide body kit looks real nice on a non chopped fastback.

No offence, but you have obviouly not seen Chuck's wide body turbo LT1 notchie or Clay's car in person then.

seeng as I have never been to that area I can say that to. Im just going by what I see in the pic and its not my cup of tea thats all. Not saying he is a bad person or anything just looks a little to bubbeley for my taste.
How does this attach under the roof? I'm really debating these right now. In fact, another glass of scotch may result in an additional purchase not originally in the budget.

Here is a mockup I have been playing around with... I call it the 4th Gen Hatch Hybrid: 4th gen camaro glass, fastback lower rear clip/decklid with notchie upper section to blend in with the glass on the sides:
You know, it might be interesting to post up some dimensions of different back windows that might work in Fieros.
I'm sure many Fiero owners have other cars that have back windows, it would be interesting if they would post dimensions of them.
Here are the dimensions of the 350Z rear window.

Note, the car pictured is not Madcurl's choptop #20 but rather his choptop #15. This mod will be going on choptop #20.
As demonstrated, a sun roof glass is about the right size for such a modification, but seriously you'd need a custom glass (same size) w/o the unwanted holes, tint, and most importantly a choptop. Using that size leaves a lot of space left over on a bubble top.

I have a question looking at these pics... Is this rear hatch glass tempered like a windshield would be..?? Could it be legally used as a windshield..??

It is tempered and will shatter into a thousand little clumps when cracked. It does not have the laminate to keep it intact, so using it as a windshield would be a very bad idea...

Every pontiac sports / muscle car had a wagon rear at some point or another. atleast from the 79 trans am to the last pontiac producd trans am ( not the 010 one )
But I kind of have another idea, as a variant of it.
I would keep it hinged at the top, just behind the roof edge, but instead of solid glass with vents along the side... I would do louvers. Not cheesy louvers.
Like this. three wide louvers, and actually more like Reventon, and others... made out of transparent, smoke tinted polycarbonate, so you could still see the engine, and edge-on to the rear interior glass, to obscure the rear view as little as possible.
The base of the liftback would basically be a rectangular fiberglass lid for the trunk, painted body-color, and integrated to the sides of the louver assembly, and hinge at the top, and locked with the standard Fiero locking mechanism. Much like the V8Archie liftback, sans the rear glass, and following the edges of the rear fastback buttresses, tapering wider from the roof to the trunk lid.
A couple of embellishments in my head: Edge-lit Center High mount stop lamp. From the inside edge (closest to rear bulkhead glass) of the highest polycarbonate louver, a full width LED strip activated by the brake light circuit would emit red LED light into the edge of the polycarbonate, and lighting through to the rear edge of the louver, which would be frost-texture etched to diffuse the light.
Automated rear spoiler. The bottom of the three louvers could be mounted on a roller inside a track built in to the sides, and with a linear actuator attached to the louver panel would push it aftward, and via the track's shape, as it travels backward, the trailing edge of the louver lifts up, and becomes an aerodynamic spoiler. When retracted, it would look no different than the other two louvers.

Boxer- thats a really cool idea. Like, REALLY cool. And it would look amazing, but here's why it wouldnt work... I've closely followed a lot of "air-flow" threads, and the air cycles from THE BOTTOM of the Fiero. That being said, the hot air is supposed to be released through the decklid vents, instead of the misconception that air is DRAWN IN the vents. By pushing air from the top, it would actually make the situation worse
HOWEVER! If you were to reverse the scoops, and make the opening face the back, that would probably do the trick. Wouldnt look as cool, but it would be pretty sweet.
NOW, who's gonna do it?
I'll ramble a little more BECAUSE I like to emphasize certain WORDS

Almost makes me want to trade my notchie for a fastback... Almost.. LOL One thing I noticed is that by doing away with the decklid and using the hatch it allows for a taller engine. I would consider doing the hatch if only for that reason.
