After the front splitter is done, that nose is gonna be HOT.
I think ABS or PVC sheet would be OK for the "exterior" portion of the splitter (i.e. the part that sticks out from the car). I used 1/8" thick PVC sheet for the front splitters on my Fiero, and it held up fine. To save weight on the "internal" part, you could probably use corrugated plastic (aka coroplast) with some aluminum bracing.
Another bonus to having the external parts separate from the internal parts is easy replacement... in case of curb rash.

Dude, I missed this photo... you got a secret stash? The bottom half of the bumper has been bought in 3", that should help miss curbs, ramps, driveway dips, etc.

I received some samples of ABS today, 1/16" and 1/8". I could use 1/8" with some support but the blade (lip) from the splitter that sticks out all around the front bumper will have to be thick. I'm thinking from 1/2" to 3/4" so it looks good and the rest can be 1/8". Blacktree look at the photo I sent you today and you'll see what I mean. I do agree about the weight. From my understanding the bumper will detach in three parts.

Will still evaluate the progress. May need to make a minor adjustment. Just want it done right to my liking and so far so good.

No updates. Waiting for the front bumper dimensions and next mod is the LED tail light similar to Yellowstone's setup. Parts are already there just waiting for the dust to settle at Dean's shop to startup again.
When I was there checking on my 88, my oldest son (16) was all but humping your car. lol he is in love with it. I really like the front and cant wait to see how it turns out. Dean tried to explain it to me but nothing beats the finished job.
Thanks for the complement. Dean's team been doing a greatjob and Blacktree incarnated the body to what it should have been after leaving the shop in North IL.. should have that front done in a few weeks. Do you have pic of your son humping my car?

BV the chop makes the car look 10 x better, why the disdain for chops ?
It's in primer, who cares ... I love the choptop on the Fastbacks but stock on the Notchbacks.

I think it throws off the lines of the car. I think it looks stupid from the side but good from the front. The ones I have seen, the door glass doesn't fit properly and there are a few other compromises just to get the look. Deans new windshield is where its at. But its my opinion about the roof, not the owner. Its not my car so nobody should care what I think of their car.
FierociousGT- True, but it is yours. I try to get me kids to understand that they need to ask permission when it comes to other peoples property. Just like petting a strange dog. Ask first, keep your hands! lol

Was a long time ago but due to the dispute with V8Archie in North IL it was moved to General. Click on my signature link for the chronological order of the build on the CFF forum.
Spoke with Dean this evening. I'm scheduling pick up for this coming Saturday. Work that is going to be performed is: 1.- Something is draining the battery. 2.- round LED Tail lights. 3.- Complete front bumper.
Stay tuned!
