I just got mine today after a few missed fedex deliveries man these things are beefy. I have a set of the stainless steel ones and hehe wow this is going to kick some arse. Now i just need someone to help with the install. looks like my brothers going to be conscripted.
I am going to be installing my hinges tomorrow, but i had one question your instructions say a 32/64 drill bit is that correct or did you mean 1/2? slightly confused.
just to let you know I plan to order a set, but its going to be a couple months. have to finish the engine swap and put wheels/tires on it. But hinges are definatly on the list!

Is it possible that the 88 had more of an inward slope near the bottom door hinge? looks like the lower strut holder is more inward than my 86 causing the strut to rub on the hinge arm... hummm I'm going to the garage tomorrow to check mine to see but I really feel this is the case. Falcon_ca you will need to shim the bottom support outwards I think.
I spent most of the day trying to figure out what I have done wrong.
The arm rubs agains the struts. It rubs so hard that it even pull out the strut if I dont care.
I have to pull the back of the door to the outside to avoid the rub.
Have you ever seen something like this with another customer?
Also, I need the specifications of the strut bolt (Ball head). I broke 2.
No I haven't it looks like the lower strut bracket needs to be moved to be more square. Push the ball studs to the back of the car so they are more horizontal with the car. Sorry to hear that 2 broke the ball is a 10mm I get from here http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/116/1187/=9tijvf part number is 9512K63. Mine is a 88 and I don't have that problem. You can call me 563-495-0253

Jesse,
I shimmed the lower plate 3/16"" and it solved the 130# problem but not completely the 150#. I don't want to go thicker; I think it will interfere with the fender.
I am now on the 1/2 inch door bottom problem, and I realized that if I move the door side of the hinge to solve this, it may also solve the strut problem.
Can you please also give me the Ball-Socket Fittings part number? I will replace those which suffered of all the tests.
thanks
