I might have said this earlier, but I'm not going either. I have gone to the first two events, but not this year. Pretty sad about it, but the reason I can't go is I'm working at my new job an average of 58 hours a week.

I will unfortunately not be making it, either. I encountered some unexpected medical expenses and reduced hours at work, all at once! Money is not on my side this year. Next year... I swear I'll make it. I've tried every year so far and failed! Have fun, everyone.

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but I don't think I can make it up this year. I have my lil car COMPLETELY ( I have pics to prove it ) ripped apart and the 88 still isn't trust worthy yet. The DD (a rusty 1996 Buick Regal) will be in use the entire weekend, so I have no way up there. I'm really bummed out about this. This would be the second year in a row I wont be able to go. I hope to have both cars up there next year. One will probably multicolored. (white/red/black)
If all you need is a ride up, we have room.

GRRRRR I hate missing this. I always said come hell or high water... But Hell came this year. I'm planning to attempt to make Fred and Annette's shin dig though!
Hey Stu, I would really hate for you to miss this event. I would like to donate $50.00 towards your flight up there. You can maybe fly in on Friday. Kev or someone else can pick you up. And you can head back to the airport with John. Would you be up for it and B, Can you take the couple of days off? Whos with me on helping to get Stu to Camp Shipman and the Tyler Show??

I just talked to Andrew on the phone, and he is down in the dumps about not being able to make it to Frazee this year. He said he would love to go, but just does not have the transportation to do so right now, as he has the engine out of his Fiero. Is there anyone that can give him a ride from Eau Claire, WI to Frazee? If not all the way to Frazee, maybe to Minneapolis-Saint Paul early on Thursday morning? Eau Claire is just an hour and a half from Minneapolis. Someone here has to be passing by that way via I-94.
If you have an idea, or means to help Andrew out, gimme a call on my cell phone. 56 one 23 six 7 oh two 4.

Now, as for DIY Stu... Flights have jumped up in price DRASTICALLY since I bought my ticket a few days ago. My ticket was $273 round trip. Checking just now from Dallas, TX it would be $723 and up to go to Frazee! Ouch!
For craps and giggles I checked Greyhound, not bad!
Leave 2:45 PM from DallasThu, 07/26 Arrive 05:40 PM Fri, 07/27 in Detroit Lakes. Travel Time: 1Day, 4hours Total: $165.601
Stu, that would be FAR cheaper that it would cost you in gas to drive up

Again, as I stated just a few posts back, if he needs a ride, I have room. I'll have two vehicles. A Chevy Blazer and my Fiero.

Yes Chris I did see and I did read what you posted. I think you missed a couple of posts though Andrew, and later I posted, he does not have access to transportation:

Andrew & I just talked on the phone again and were looking back through the last couple pages of posts. Cornersonrails and MrFred8 are coming from Chicago, and passing very close to Andrew at 10am on Thursday. Andrew said he could meet them along I-94. I just gave him Cornersonrails phone number to see about them having space, and ability to pick up a hitchhiker along the way

I could meet the passing caravan at a park and ride just off of the exit for hwy 65. Its riht next to the freeway. I could the meet Synthisis just before the air port.

Heh, I just realized my second post may have sounded a bit terse.. That wasn't my intent at all. Sorry.
I missed the part about Andrew's daily drive being unavailable all weekend...
I was thinking he could just park at my place, and then we'd all ride up. Sorry about that.

I think this is the park and ride that Andrew is talking about. It is a half block off of I-94 where it intersects 65. The map link above is zoomed way in, but is centered on the park and ride. Just zoom out to get a sense of where it's at.
So.... The way I see it, Andrew can meet up with Chris and Fred just off of I-94 at roughly 10:30 am . As Chris's car is full of T-Shirts, Andrew will probably have to ride to St. Paul with MrFred8. Then, in St. Paul, Andrew will hitch a ride with Chris (Synthesis), and I will will hop in with Mr. Fred, then we all head to JP's to meet the rest of the Thursday caravan....... this all sound about right? No, I am not a real travel agent, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last week!

/\ Booooo lol. How long have you waited before you could use that lol. That sounds about right. I still haven't gotten a hold of Fred yet. I hope this works out.
Hey Everyone, I have not been keeping up with this thread as I have been at a car show the past few days (Outstanding in Class Pontiac Oakland Club National Convention, yay me!).
I would be happy to pick Andrew up in Eau Claire and drop him off somewhere in MN/SP where Synthesis/ChrisK would take him in the rest of the way. Please note however that luggage space will be really tight, so you should only count on the space on your lap and the floorboard in front of you.
My number is 33one - 6eight4 - 8665. Andrew, I think you called me but your message was cut off. All I know is I am meeting Chris L near Rockford IL at 6am. I will leave it to everyone else to tell me where I should be stopping and who I should be picking up/ dropping off. The important thing is that we don't leave Andrew stranded in MN/SP

I am sorry folks... I will not be there this year. We just managed to find a two year lease renter for our current house and had our offer accepted on a house closer to where I work. So we are moving on Aug 25... I know, a whole month away right? My wife is a nurse and works second shift as well as some weekends, and this coming weekend is one she doesn't have to work, so we need it to start consolidating all of our crap.
Have fun and take pics!

Well after the help I got from YellowTop last night, my Fiero is running and idling better. Unfortunately, I was informed today that I was added to the work schedule for next Saturday.
Take awesome pictures everyone!
Aw man! Maybe next year. Or hey you could get down to the Iowa show August 18th.

starting to get that anxious pre-show feeling :S hope we have a good turn out. sounds like the weather will be nice with high 70s and sunny.
as a side note looking ahead already - thanks to the generosity of United Community Bank in Frazee we are able to offer a free shirt to all those pre-registering for the 2013 show. I will post this again on our web site later, but wanted to put a bug in everyone's ear. that is a great deal since registration is only 10.00 and the shirts normally cost 12.00! I will put a cut off date for that as July 1, 2013.

Sorry guys I cannot go at all this year. John just tried to rib me for not asking for my vacation by now, but I actually had this scheduled since January. I just started my 3rd week back from being off work due to injury/illness for a whole month. During this time my boss realised just how much responsibility he had placed in me. One day in the hospital while on pain killers I sat on the phone with him for nearly 7 hours walking him through programming access systems. This isn't very easy to start with and he has never received the training for it, much less the fact that simple programs is all he knows. SO I have spent two whole weeks at computers and head units of 3 access systems. I have 6 more to go. If these are completed within the allotted time I save coworker's bonuses. So I have opted to do the right thing and help out where others cannot.
I am honored by everyone's dedication and generosity. The generosity over the last couple months has taken me by surprise to say the least and has not only been a little uncomfortable, but rocked me on my heels to say the least. You all are amazing in my book and I owe you tons. I will miss seeing you all this year!

Ok, Got some good stuff for the raffle! The last time I was in China, I picked up a couple camera's for someone here at home. They changed their mind, and I basically got stuck with the bill. I was just going through a cabinet and ran across them, and would like to donate them as prizes to raffle off to raise money.
There are 2 Casio camera's, one is blue and one is black. They are nice and tiny, and easily fit into a shirt pocket. They are both brand new still in the sealed boxes. These are actually nice camera's, and I use one myself as a pocket camera when I don't feel like carrying the big SLR around. I paid around $150 each for them.
Main Features:
14.1mp Image Quality
4x Optical Zoom
High Density 2.7" LCD Screen
Record 720p HD Video
CCD Image Stabilization
Here is what they look like:
This is what I have found to be in the Raffle so far this year, from scanning the posts in this thread.
A "Fiero specific car part" (Nellieship) [Don't ask me LOL! ! !]
LED Marker Lights (Daniel AKA BlackWidow)
Gift certificate (The Fiero Store)
Fiero Store T-Shirt (The Fiero Store)
Calendars (The Fiero Store)
Hard cover book about fieros (The Fiero Store)
Homemade Fiero Quilt (Nellieship)
Two 14 Megapixel Casio cameras [to be drawn for separately] (JohnWPB)
If anyone would like to donate something for the Raffle, it will be greatly appreciated. Raffle proceeds will go towards helping with the Tyler Shipman Memorial Scholarship Fund. This Scholarship helps Frazee graduates defray the cost of college.

I got a ride offer from the Shipman`s.... BUT would like to find someone leaving St. Paul on Thursday morning and not impose on them if possible.

IF I had 2 weeks off work, and IF my car were running, and put back together, and IF gas wasn't almost $4 a gallon... I would just ever so slightly consider the extreme remote possibility of the very unlikely chance of me driving my Fiero to Frazee instead of flying.

How is it looking for local cars? I’ve been trying to get some of our Lone Eagle Auto Club folks to come. Unfortunately they have been going to a show in Cold Spring for years and it’s on the same day. I have passed out flyers for the Tyler Memorial Show while at a few small local shows in May & June, would be nice if that brings in a few into the show. The Frazee weather forecast is lookin’ good for Saturday!
Plan to show up with 2 cars (Fiero & Solstice). Might have convinced one from the Lone Eagle Club (66 GTO) to follow along. 88fieroduke plans to be with us as well with a car to show.

Um......so your still saying you need a ride ???
BTW, if anyone REALLY needs a ride, there's a lot of extra room in the Rollback and i'll just haul my Fiero up there....
