I'm in for a set, maybe two. After taking out a deer this fall and finding out how hard it is to get replacement side glass, I can't pass this up.

Let's pull the trigger on this one! Surely we have more than ten orders here. I'd say we have well over 20. I'm willing to put my deposit down...

2 sets here!

I did some on my first fiero, it wasn't too bad, just annoying. I did it with the door off the car, as it was accident repair.

Just a word of caution for all involved. Made in China. There are a very few door glasses still around. I found a NOS pair made by PPG by doing some internet digging.

How about hitting up the FieroStore? They might be willing to jump in and buy 20, 30 or 40 sets and make the price even lower.

I;m also interested in 1 set however I'll only give my official confirmation when the official group buy is set as I have the money available now but if this takes a few months to set up who knows if I'll have it by then.

Keep us posted!

I already called the fierostore.

Yes, they're made in China. I'll ask about tint and DOT. They supply glass to GM and other companies. I would expect them to meet standards.

I assume he'll have to see them to see if it's possible.

If you are serious, I may have a set kicking around. I would much prefer glass quarter glass over plastic if the curvature was correct. Lettering and tint can always be added later if needed. If I don't have a set of quarter glass, I am sure someone here has a scratched up or delaminated set that they are willing to donate to a good cause

Joe, I am in for a set. I also have a pair of fastback sail panels that are in pretty bad shape, but could be used to get the dimensions off of, and would be willing to donate and ship them to whoever needed them. You can PM me if you're interested.

Richard is going to register here and post tonight. He is happy to answer any questions.

They are DOT approved, and most likely 35%(?) smoke tint could be an option for a small upcharge.

I will back you up on this. I deal with many parts from China anymore and while most are very well done some can be an issue if they do not follow the plans and drawings. Also while not always some times quality can be an issue.

When you order with these MFG everyone speaks english. If there is an issue no one speaks english. Use care in dealing with any MFG over there. Most are fine but some will be your worst nightmare.

With the number of people willing to put out money here I would get a list and contact someone like safelite or PPG and see if they would be willing to make these windows since there is such a great demand. I would be willing to put some money down with a major MFG no matter where they are made if they are taking the risk out off getting a less than quality product.

I've done some serious research on the door glass issue online and have spoken to many manufacturers. I've stressed to them how our cars all need new glass and how they could make a ton if they just ran a new batch. Absolutely NO interest. There is one supplier who has 20 pairs of window glass in stock...they want over $600 for the pair, plus shipping (at least they will ship them...when I've found glass at suppliers, they always refuse to ship and they are always too far away to go get!). This glass seems to be coming from a supplier here in the US and he should and I believe would be responsible for any problems that may come up if I am reading the whole post correctly.

Really, what choice do we have? I'd be happy to pay $300 a set of new, GM approved, original spec door glass, but it is a pipe dream for us fiero lovers unless someone's relative is in high places at one of the manufacturers.

Nothing personal here but I just have some reservation on ordering glass that I am not sure will fit or be of good quality and not having an incorperated company or store selling them. I am sure you would do your best to back up eveything you can but this could be a big money problem if it all goes wrong.

If anything if you plan to go through with this as the acting agent I would look at all possible ways to protect yourself. I would speak to a lawyer and see what options there are to protect the buyers and yourself. You may just be able to incorperate and make a small buisness out of this and end up making long term side company.

This is one of those things if it all works is a sweet deal if it fails it could be the worst nightmare.

I think there is a lot of people like me that once this is a proven product and in stock we would easily put our money down and add that many more sales. But for now I would have a hard time putting any money down on a product not even made let alone proven. And again this is no reflection on you personally. I fear what the end product is. Odds it will be fine but till you really know.????

I'm not in the glass business. The person I found is in the glass business. I gain nothing.
I don't make anything. If you have reservations then wait and see. The Chinese glass company apparently has the tooling for fiero windows. There aren't really any other affordable options. You are absolutely right. I/we are trusting a stranger and could go bad, but he's a stranger that's providing an affordable option.

I am possibly interested in a pair as well (OEM tint) - but this would really hinge on shipping costs to me in Canada. If I could get a ball park cost that would really help.

A question for Richard.

I would LOVE a pair for that price. The thing is the shipping to Poland from the US would kill me. However you say that these are made in China... Are the whole windows made there or do you just buy the glass and make the windows in the US? You see shipping from China to my place is pretty much always free or is very very cheap. If you are buying the windows already made and ready to install - is there a possibility of shipping from China to Poland directly? I would be happy to even pay a little more but not another 200$ or something just for shipping what would be the case when importing from USA.

Thanks in advance for the reply.
