lildevil, thanks for the color's formulas comparison and the pics. Great visuals! I think I'm still leaning toward the Bright Red formula. I think darker colors typically have more "depth" in the reflections.
That what I keep telling people, yet they ignore it. Looking at cars on the street and in lots is the best way to find a color. Then make a note of the make and approx year to find it. The chip you then look up wont look like you remember on the car hardly ever. Pics are far worse than paint stores sample chips. I can take a pic of a car, move 5' to take another and the color will be different....and thats if the camera can read the color right in the first place, which 80% dont.

Look i was just posting the pics for a reference. To give the guys an idea. If a red is darker then another red its going to show in the pic. I don't think you'd notice the 2% of red violet so why even put it in? I've never parked next to a Viper. But have worked on one and it is a bright red. Now keep inmine the 980 tint i am talking about is in NEXA line of paint. Made by PPG. So DuPont or Sikkens or the others won't have it but should have something similar

So, If I understand correctly, the base tint color may vary a bit by brand. I was under the impression that the base tint colors might be standardized across all the different brands. Any particular reason you chose the NEXA brand?

I too was trying to find the brightest "red" on the market and after several months I seriously needed to take a break from looking at the various colors. I decided to go with the "Victory Red."
No doubt there's brighter reds out there, but mine is a little too bright.
Yes the tints will very by manufacturer. But seriously doubt you'll notice a difference. I used NEXA ( used to be called ICI Autocolor) because thats what I spray at work.
