It's been a real busy 2 months, but I have bought my first house and have started to move in. It's a very unique house, as it's basically a 1200 Sq-ft apartment on top of a 4 1/2 car garage. It came with all the appliances I need, some chairs, fencing, etc. I love it, lots of little things that the owner did, since the man I bought it from had it built new in 1984. Lots of room for my tools, my Riviera, and of course, the Fieros. Today I got Goldie out of storage after sitting for 8 months (THAT was fun..long story short I had to get a new battery while it sat dead at a gas station) and moved her to my new house. The 3800/F23 Fiero will also be moved here within the next week or two.
On to pictures! (that's my dad in the first picture)

Matt, you done good. At your age, I would have killed for that place. Today, I need a little more room.....like a 2500 square foot apartment atop an 8 car garage
Thanks guys. It's still alot of money for someone my age (20), but I know I got a really good deal on this property with the housing market the way it is.

Is a house like that really gonna work for someone as tall as you? I wouldn't think there'd be very high ceilings.
It's not too bad, but I do have to duck down my head for some things. Like the slanted doors going into the walk-though closet.

Yep, there is a 220 plug in each "garage".

The pictured room is the laundry/bathroom on the first floor. There is a nicer full bathroom upstairs as well.

Nope, sorry, this is a house you don't see too often..or at all. Haha. That's why I bought it so early, I wasn't really planning on moving so early in my life, but it looks like it's working out. This "house" started out as a storage building, and then the owner added the apartment area in the second floor. This is why the ground floor looks..unfinished, on the inside, because it isn't. That's the area I'm going to fix first. For example, there is NO insulation between the two floors, at all. Or drywall on the ceiling, but that's just for appearance.

Wow Matt. Nice choice! Can't imagine there being a better place than that for you and your Fieros in the price range of a 20 year old. Congratulations!

That's a great starter place for a single guy with an automotive hobby! The only downside to a garage under the house is fumes (paint, exhaust, welding... unless the garage is sealed tight), they always migrate into the house. Not much of an issue for you, but females tend to complain about it.
Thanks again everyone! I'm excited to fully move in and live there.

Absolutely! I agree with the downside, like I said there is no inslution between the two floors and it's not sealed, something I need to fix, even if just for myself. No females here....yet.

That is awesome, esp for a 20 yo. I am way older and just finished completing my dream garage. I have 7 vehicles in it, it has radiant floor heat and a small office-work area. I actually hang out in it more than in my home. You cant go wrong investing in property for yourself. Congrats!!

So it took me a second to figure out that the garage is the bottom floor! This house had to have been built by a gearhead. I'm around your age (22) and would love to have that much garage space. Congrats on the house man I'm in the market too so I know its gotta be a good feeling finding your new home
It was built for cars in mind for sure, back in 1984. I was told a rare 69 Camaro was frame off restored in the left garage space of this house at some point in time.

If you need any advice about upkeep, plumbing, or just general home advice, feel free to always PM me. I know the inside and out of homes like the back of my hand. Being half of a continent away, that is the best that I got. If I were closer I would be there helping you all the way.
Looks good.. Lots of kitchen storage room too. There is never enough garage room..organize it well.. Get battery tenders for the cars that are not used much.
