I think one of the fans reached over the railing, and caught a foul ball that the outfielder probabally could have caught, and got the batter out.

Didn't they give up 8 runs or something that inning.. IF thats true.. the fan is just a scapegoat.. Anyone would have reached for the ball..

Yeah, you have about 1 second after the ball is hit to grab it. I don't think he realized that that ball could have been caught by the player...he just saw the ball coming, and went for it.

50 years from now, people will be holding up signs with HIS face on 'em...

The curse continues...
