That reminds me of a story, actually a couple of stories:

My wife's sister warmed-up some leftover bacon in the toaster oven. No problem, you think? She heated it on a paper towel! No, our kitchen didn't burn, although the cabinet over the toaster oven is a bit smoked.

A few years ago, my wife cooked very tasty chicken with olives. After adding wine, she let it cook covered for a few minutes, then lifted the lid a crack to peek in. Whooomp! The alcohol vapors lit. (Gas stove.) There was no major damage except the kitchen smelled of burned hair for a few minutes . . . and you know how "surprised" someone looks with no eyebrows!

And then there was the time she dropped the spoon into the blender while making a smoothie.

I am still sitting here giggling trying to picture a naked young lady trying to cook bacon and getting splatterd with hot grease, and the constant, "ooh, ouch, eek, ahh, dang" all in a cutsie funny voice.

Ya know I here there are creams out there that can help.

(if I did not already have a Fiero Girl of my own, (fierochick is my other half) I might make some more adult orientated comments)
