Built from plans posted on another forum.

Sort of a toy, but cheap and wanted to try it out.

Taking a bit as I'm just glue and clamping it.

Good luck... but that doesn't look like a real 8th order enclosure... the speaker fires outside the cabinet.

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxes6.asp scroll to the bottom for drawings and descriptions.

What are you hoping to accomplish with this enclosure?

actually it is.. took me a second to see it but theres a chamber behind the far right internal port. so the waves travel off the cone. right angle down the channel to find the raised port. then travel into another chamber where they meet up with the backside waves and then funnel out though the main port. Interesting. I'd love to hear how this sounds.

Looking at that site I guess the wicked one is more of a folded horn then a bandpass. http://www.decware.com/newsite/mainmenu.htm
Still hits like no other though makes 2 10s seem like 2 18s

Ummm. Look a little closer. It's the same as

And I built it for fun and to see how it sounds. It should have the output of a 10" from 20hz - 108hz in car.

Although you could put 2 10"s sealed in the same size box, it's fun because it is a 5.25"

Good job! Bandpass boxes are fun to build and tune. I've always wanted to build an 8th order for a 10 or a 12 for my home audio sub. They just take up sooo much space. I'd have to use a closet as the enclosure and have the ports sticking out of the walls.

Ahhh the Jasper circle jig. A MUST HAVE for any speaker box builder.

4th and 6th order should be easy, lots of the free design programs will design those.

What woofer is it? model #? I have bass box pro, so I could whip something up for ya.

Anyone know of a program that does 8th order? this one is someone elses design.

and I should be powering mine up in the next hour.

Done sounds great, about as loud as a sealed 10" with = power.

It acually made my eyes water at about 50-60 hz, played a 20 - 120 hz sweep, and showing 18vac on my DMM

So the box sounds good huh!? Good Job! Now watcha gonna do with it??? That's @ 30 watts going to it, right? 8 ohm woofer?

I Don't know of a program that will calculate 8th order. I use Bass Box Pro too. I have to do some digging because I have the formula to design them somewhere.

I do have Vance Dickinson "Loudspeaker Cookbook" also. but a program would be easier ;P

and yes, 8ohm woofer. didn't calculate it.

I did figure 100 watts would be 28.8 vac, but I didn't dare do that for the 1st time. It it supposed to take 150, and another guy built it and put 200 to it, but I wouldn't look forward to replacing the speaker so soon.

It will probably go in my wifes car and I do have 1 more speaker so I think I'll make another. I'll just parallel them with her rears
