When I rate someone, I normally paste a link to the particular thread that caused me to rate them, esp if it was a neg in the reason why box. I think it would be a good idea for us to review our ratings once in a while. "Bad" people can change, and even "good" people make mistakes. I got into it with a member some time ago, and I was in the wrong. I apologized to him, but I have no idea if or how many negs I may have because of that.
I do think it would be more fair for the speed-ban system to be more of a warning system; to let someone know when they're treading on thin ice. For instance, if I have one +, and have a bad day and get into a scuff with someone here, and I'm clearly in the wrong, then I can get 5 negs and be banned before I have a chance to look at it the next day and possibly make an apology?

Good idea. I intend to start doing that.
A warning system is a good idea. I also might suggest that once a negative rating is a certain age --say 6 months or a year-- that whoever gave that rating be given a reminder that they have given that rating. Or else just have it expire. The large majority of folks who make me mad do it over and over anyway, so the expiring rating wouldn't matter. Just a reminder for us lazy folks. (Yes. I admit it.) Positives should NEVER go away unless the person who gave them is banned. Helpful people generally stay helpful.

I would also add that whoever gets banned, all the negs they gave people should go away with them. I have to wonder if that's how people like Tinton got so much red on their bars; looks like he's been through a "troll war."

While we are on the ratings subject, can anyone please tell me how I was able to rate 80's BOY twice? Cliff? I thought you could only rate somebody once.

You haven't and you can't.
"80's Boy" was banned but returned as "80s Boy" (notice there's no apostrophe between "80" and "s") only to be banned again not long after that. So you probably rated both incarnations.

Hahaha I'm just kidding. I didn't rate anyone negative. I am on the pda verison of pennocks so I don't even have access to rate anyone or even see my own ratings bar. I don't have 3218 negatives given out ether I have maybe 10 or somthing I have not checked in a while. Lastime I did check I had cliff rated negative. I didn't do it ether. So someone got access to my name or I went to rate someone else with a negative and somehow hit him.

And I'd stick with that story.

I have given 117 Ratings. Six were negative and of those, four have been banned already. I plan to un-rate one of my remaining two. Chances are if you are an active member who has helped me in the Technical Section you are on my good list already.
Edit: if you have rated me negatively please send me a pm as to why. I will not give a neg back for honest answers.
