Is there a way to deflect a "force push"? My nephews use that dang move on me all the time, (usually right when I am about to defeat them...) Maybe I could wrap them in some "Force Bacon?"
What about us new Star Wars fans? I didn't watch any of the movies until Episode 3 came out, then I watched them in order, going to the theater for Episode 3, and watching the rest in at home.
My friends couldn't believe that I had never seen them, but I was too busy with my with computers in the 80's to watch much of anything.
i hate that i knew what that is without even having to click the link or look it up. damn you to hell, timothy zahn.
Perhaps I'm not the Star Wars geek I thought I was. I had no idea what that was. I do own all of the movies and the Holiday Special on DVD. That counts doesn't it?

Relax! You've managed to suck all of the fun out of the room.
i read Heir to the Empire soooooooo long ago, i forget the details. it was a creature who does not respond to the Force, or something like that. lives outside of the Force, or something. i'll refresh my memory.
a lot of the stuff he wrote into his novels found their way into the games, like the massassi, the sith lords, the Chiss species, the Imperial Remnant, etc...
That explains that then. I've never read any of the books or comic books. I can do a bang-up job on the movies though. I can pretty much quote the movie's dialogs.

You weren't the only one! Been along time since I read that trilogy.
I must have about 50 books on Star Wars, I stopped collecting them back in 2000 shortly after my Grandmother pass away. She used to always buy me new relases of the books. I have a friend who probably has close to all of them. He only slowed down because of time spent with his new son.

I have a bunch of Star Wars books (paperbacks) a misinformed friend gave me (thought I was into wars not trek). If anyone has a title they are looking for let me know and I will see if I have it. If someone wants them all let me know and we can talk, here or PM.
X wing fighters close in on a strange Federation Starship from another universe........
Their lasers bounce ineffectively off the starship's energy shields.
Suddenly crimson phaser beams lance out and pick the little fighters off one by one.
The end.
PS: A strange blue box suddenly fades from view as it had been floating nearby. It's pilot chuckles to himself as his TARDIS sets course for another parallel reality.

Star Wars DOES beat Star Trek any day. (waves hand from left to right attempting a Jedi mind trick)
Actually, they are totally different and really can't be compared. Having said that, Star Trek laid the ground work for quality sci-fi for later sci fi like Star Wars and Galactica. Star Trek even had some famous and prestigeous sci-fi authors over the years write for the shows. Star Wars souldn't try and beat Star Trek, it should thank it. Besides, would you rather live in the doom and gloom dark empire world of Star Wars, or travel on a Starship through out the galaxy and seek out new life and new civilizations and meet sexy green Orion slave babes
Really, both visions have their place. They are just different ideas entirely. Trek is set in our future. Wars happened a long time ago in another galaxy.
Roddenberry was a visionary and Lucas was a genius. Both men will live forever in the history of sci fi alongside Wells and Verne.
Go back to the genesis of today's sci fi TV and movies and you will find a little film called Forbidden Planet that looked a lot like Star Trek. That film was really the trail blazer for Trek, Wars, Galactica, Star Gate, et al.
And Doctor Who premiered in 1963, before Star Trek LOL

Question, How come the Trekkies get a thread all their own, not one post about Star Wars, but when someone starts a Star Wars thread, there are like Star Trek posts 2 to 1 in it? GO BACK TO YOUR OWN THREAD!!!!!
THIS IS NOT THE THREAD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR
