I'm working with a tuning shop to put together a controller that will work with a 4T60e Transmission and TPI engine. Can anyone confirm that the shifting operation for the 4T60e and 4L60e work the same? Same solenoids performing the same tasks.

If any GM transmission experts out there your help is greatly appreciated!

The 4l60e uses an EPC (electronic pressure control) solenoid. While the 4t60e uses a vacuum modulator like the old 3 speeds. Both have shift solenoids. Youll have to look at a SS application chart to tell if they are commanded the same. The 4l60e has a manifold pressure switch, the 4t60e does not.

Really the 4t65e is much closer to the 4l60e in the electronic department.
