Yes, this is right up Tim Burtons alley. More like Alice in Nightmareland, instead of wonderland. Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Does this mean the Queen is into.... well you know?

-Just read "Alice in Wonderland" this week during my commute.
I loved the game. some "painful parts",(some monotonous parts, too) but the cut scenes, the cat, the music,(They used some funky old toys to make the creepy stuff) all very very cool. I liked the intro.
Make two of the "Alice" paper models. Pretty cool.
I have the Alice and Cat figures. I liked the cat...

Yeah, Fun game. Great "late at nioght game". Loved the "swirly sky" graphics. I thought it used the Quake(III?) engine (might be wrong)...
I think they might be making a different Alice movie too...(more closely based on the game) That might have been shot down, though...
Need more games like this...!
Hope the movie is well done.
edit: Glad Clive Barker wasn't involved... that would have ended up being "Alice in Hellraiserland" !

the burton one is based on the game, he wrote the bases years ago after playing it, i read an interview with him about the movie, he stuck the script in his desk, just ran across it not long ago and said "i think its time", trying to remember what mag the interview was in....

Danny Elfman IS doing the Soundtrack Danny Elfman + Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Burton's wife, Helena Bonham Carter = 100% Guaranteed awesome movie!
While I like some of Burton's work and this does look promising, I have to disagree. This is not a slam dunk. Burton has put out some real garbage. Just my oppinion though.

(yeah, American McGee's was on the Quake III engine for sure, NOT Half-Life)
SIIIICK. I like it
Although Elfman on the music...Could be good, could be meh, but at least it won't be bad. I agree on Bowie for the mad hatter role...Anybody remember Labyrinth? (Although Johnny Dep's not a bad choice either...).
Hope they don't water it down and totally screw it up like they did with Doom (That could have been SO awesome but nooooo...).

I think Depp is legally required to be in any new Tim Burton film along with Helena Bonham Carter. Not sure how he got out of Planet of the Apes, but other than that I think he has been in, or voiced a character in, every Burton film since Edward Scissorhands.
