I have started to get back into trying to locate and finish up my collection of Aurora Prehistoric Scenes models from the 70's.
Unfortunately quite a few of the ones I had in storage over the years are either now missing or damaged/missing pieces and or missing the box.
I found my Woolly Mammoth model but it is missing both of his tusks, his base and the box. My Armored Dinosaur is missing his two piece base and his box.
There are a few more of mine that are like this but I think you get the idea. I will try and post some pics in a few.
So I am just curious if there is anyone else on here who collects or still has any of these vintage models and if so do you happen to have any that you would like to sell?
The few good ones I see on eBay every so often are like a lot of collectibles I see on on there these days where the seller wants so much for one that they will probably never sell them, at least at those prices right now.

Steve

I had forgotten all about those things !!!

I'll check with mom if she still has it or has tossed it, but I had the LeBrea tar pit diorama. Its all built and painted, but if she still has it somewhere I'll let you know. (its the one with a wooly rhino 1/2 in the tar and a vulture sitting on a tree eating a piece of it)

I think they sell them in a train shop in midtown Manhattan. Don't think they are too crazy-expensive...how much you looking to spend?

O......K......

I just got off the phone with ma, and here exact words were "are you mental ?"

Which means she has it packed in a box SOMEWHERE--the basement, the shed, the garage, the attic, the rafters over the garage--but she AINT about to go looking.

<sigh>

This is the woman who, several years ago, came across a box of kleenex I had glued macaroni to in about 1969 at pre-school. It had never been opened. For some reason when she found it and thought I would want it now. I didnt want it THEN, thats why I gave it away !!!!! <grin>

Ok, no problem.
Just keep me in mind "if" you or your Mom ever come across it

Here are a few more older pics for those who remember these very cool model kits from the 70's:

Yes, but mine is missing a few pieces so if you could find the one you have at some point I could hopefully make one complete one out of the two
