So to put it in a nice way, I am glad ( for once ) that the rating system did exactly what it should. I gave the guy a negative in General Chat because for one thing, he was almost spamming the area with useless threads every day, half of which had no bounds other than general questions that could apply to any vehicle, and for another reason, he told one member to "F" off in a thread after he was suggested to buy a car other than a Fiero and was warned by the same member that he "would not last here very long" if he kept up that kind of language. It seems that recently, we have a rash of new members that think they just come on here, post BS threads, ask questions that in some cases have nothing to do with Fieros, argue with other members, and try to take over and run the forum. I hope all the new members see what happened and realize that this forum is organized in a way that discourages reckless abandon and if they act up, they will meet the same demise as Redfieroman2.

I thought that when you were getting close to getting the "axe" you'd get put on probation? What happened to that? It didn't get a chance to kick it, huh? Did I miss one of the famous "speed bans"?

I dont know he was on here for a few months before he got booted just laied very low and poped up all the sudden. like I said I never had a problem with the dude and I dident contribute to his ratings with a neg or a positive but I did see the whole thing about stealing archies widebody thread and you dont get far being new on here and bashing archie. might work on other places out there (cough RFT cough) but not here. Basicley it all funnels down to archies design archies product he can price it as he pleases and shoulent have to worry about someone butting into his business.

Yeah, talking about 'cloning' someone elses work and selling it cheaper on an open forum for that matter is pretty goofy.

I think it was a speed ban. That tends to happen when you pizz someone (or a bunch of someones) off and tell them "ban me if you want".

I tried to help the guy out. He's was just constantly asking questions, with many of them having either common sense answers or if he would have taken a whole two minutes to search he would have found the answers. I could tell he was one of those guys that thought that "Hey, I bought a Fiero for cheap. Everything that goes with it must be cheap" I swear if another kit car question was asked I was gonna post my insanity.
I'm still wondering how he's gonna knock your teeth out Cliff. I mean I don't think you go to too many Fiero events since there seems to be this large thing called an ocean and part of Europe that separates you from him in Florida ..... maybe he was gonna spend some money to fly over there. But wait, wouldn't that take away from his 'Fiero Fantasy' fund?

Hey new guys......read the posting rules before you start typing.
I never have read the posting rules! I'll have to put that on my list of things to do.
I've always just tried to present myself on the forum as I would in any other public place, seems simple enough to just behave civilly and respect others rights to voice their opinions.
------------------ Dealing with failure is easy: work hard to improve. Success is also easy to handle: you've solved the wrong problem, work hard to improve.
i very lightly skimmed the rules when i first joined, but i treat every1 here as i would like to be treated, i pitch in help when i can in tech and i ask questions when i need help as well. i have had a few posts that i kinda needed to vent/get ideas for what steps to take (my son 4 example), but hey, everyone has those at one point in time or another
I love short people. I've been hit in the face maybe 5 times. I'm not that tall. Why do people with a height disadvantage like hitting me in the face? And no I didn't hit back, hate to hurt someone smaller than me.
well, I am sure most of ya have seen what threads can get like in "other" forums. heck - there have been MUCH uglier threads on THIS forum. but - yes - being a newb, and coming out swinging like that - not good. this aint prison. you dont need to walk up the biggest guy (Archie in this case) and start something.

Just wanted to add this little gem I received from the same guy per email today:
quote
Subject: and you wonder why people my age commit suicide
tell the fiero community goodbye for me
Now the email I got before this was an apology, so I have no clue what prompted him to suddenly change his tone again. But anyway, he wanted me to say goodbye to you. "Goodbye". There.

This guy must be an EMO. If that was a veiled threat of suicide this guy needs psychiatric help. He only has himself and his inmaturity to blame for his situation.

Why keep feeding him? If he is suicidal, do you really want to be the one who calls his bluff? It would be just as easy to completely ignore him. Easier, even.

Who said I think he's bluffing? I'm sure he's not. But I'm equally sure that if the guy wants to end his life, it's not because he was banned from a car forum. No matter how much he tries to put the blame with this forum or its members.
I've been very polite to him in his email when he asked me why he was banned. I even suggested I might be able to undo the ban. His answer was asking me to investigate. Which I did. But apparently, that took a bit too long for his taste and 2 days later he chose to send me the "Imma go to the next fiero meet you attend and knock whats left of you teeth out old man" email.
My answer was actually asking if that email was directed at me since there was no reason whatsoever for him to threaten me like that.
Next he sends me an apology (sort of) but he remarks that he thought it was sad that I only answered the negative emails. My response, verbatim, nothing left out, nothing added:
quote
Sad? It's easy to respond to a threat. I can think of an answer in oh, 3 seconds. If you send me an email and ask me to go read your posts, figure out why you were banned, give you an opinion and decide to request members if you should return or not - it's going to take a bit longer to respond.
Then he sends me an email he's going to kill himself.
Believe me, at this point I'm sure he's capable of everything. But that's his problem, and I'm damned if I let him make it mine.
