The link below is an example. I don't know where the best deals are on these and would certainly like to hear from somebody that has actually tried them instead of the usual advertising hype and "testimonials" etc. I guess they are not really that expensive compared to a carton or two of smokes these days.
I would like to avoid the usual smoking sucks comments from the peanut gallery and just have smokers talk about smoking and this alternative. Of course if you must,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I can't stop you

I wonder about them, because I've never seen one in person or know of anybody that uses one. I'm just curious how they work.
I do know that there is an aggressive marketing campaign of a brand called "Smokers Assassin". Where they say: "The first 200 callers gets one for free."
I hear they are kind of a scam. They basically auto charge people for refills every month and it's extremely difficult to get them to cancel and off of the billing cycle. Just beware of that brand at least.

If I go for it I will be buying them in person from the local smoke shop, feel it in my had and get a good look at everything. I tried to do it last week while picking up a carton of smokes but I frankly could not understand what the store owner was saying due to his poor pronunciation of the English language. Heh, I had to give up and leave.

Friend has one.. very interesting and don't think it'll save your hide smoking one in a restaurant.. to most even the thought of someone with one is enough to raise a stink.. Its like if you use one you better be wearing a shirt that tells the world its a electric cig, and how it works, or you'll still catch hell for it.
I'd do alot of reading on them also! I stumbled across lots of sites discussing if its any better then real smoking cause it vaporizes liquid nicotine at a much stronger content then smoking. unless you do the non nicotine ones, which might help you kick the habit. One friend just said hell with the cig and just put drops on your tongue!! WOAH OK!
The other draw back is most require a charge every night.. How did you feel the last time you woke up the next morning and discovered your cell phone was only at half charge OR DEAD! due to not plugging it in the night before? Woahhhh nelly!
I then again wouldn't mind buying one for my roommate since he LOVES to forget this is a non-cig smoking house and tends to stink up the place when he "forgets"
Just do your research, as always with new stuff that has to do with your health!

I had one, and it was honestly pretty nice. I was able to get away with smoking in the restaurants and such. And it was cheaper and better (IMO) than any of the other ones out on the market.
If you are interested in buying one, check them out HERE

An ecig is basically a mini-fog machine like rock groups use on stage. There is no smoke, smell or cancer causing tar. It's only vapor. Over 2 months ago I bought an ecig and it stopped my 40 year, 2 pack a day cigarette habit. I haven't smoked a real cigarette since (except for once when the battery died), I actually prefer it to a real cigarette.
Here's my current stats: I have stopped smoking for 2 months, 13 days (74 days). I've not smoked 2624 cigarettes, and saved $526.33. I've saved 9 days, 2 hours and 37 minutes of my life.
They ship slow, it takes about 3 weeks before it will arrive from China. They are cheap so don't expect them to last too long, maybe 2 weeks or so.
You probably won't like the cartridges that comes with it, believe they have no nicotine. The cartridges are refillable though and you can buy the refill juice with or without nicotine here (among other places):
Nice thing about it is you can use a regular Li-Ion battery and it lasts a lot longer between recharges.
Obviously, I think ecigs are great. Because I'm not actually smoking, my sense if smell has returned and ecigs are much cheaper than cigarettes. I've told 2 friends about these and now they have quit smoking real cigarettes. The FDA is considering banning ecigs because they haven't tested them even though the ingredients are known to be safe. Maybe they want to ban them because of lost tax revenue? You can do the research and decide, it's too lengthy to get into here.
200+ a month ?!?! Wow ( and congrats on your first steps to quitting forever )
Hey thanks Nerb432! That $200 a month was the cheap cigarettes! Crazy huh? With this ecig I haven't quit nicotine but I have quit smoking. To me that's a big step in the right direction.

Thing is you can get so much more "run" time by using the larger Li-Ion batteries. For example with the cheap ecig, you might get 45 minutes to 1 hour. With the laser pointer mod, I get about 3 hours before recharging. I used the atomizer from my cheap ecig and adapted it to the laser pointer, it works great.
If you don't want to mod a laser pointer, I'd recommend you getting this one:
I don't have any affiliation with this guy but his prices are very fair and he ships very fast, no need to wait for Chinese/US Customs.
To be honest, I was very skeptical about ecigs. I couldn't believe that I had no cravings for a real cigarette at all. A 40 year cigarette habit gone in one day, amazing.
Good luck, Mike

do any of them tastes/smokes/feels like newports? thanks
I used to smoke malbro menthol lights, at first the E cig taste kind of wierd (because of the carts that come with them), But the more you puff on it the more used to it you get, after puffing on this thing for a week, reg smokes start to smell nasty, After 2weeks you begin to smell smoke on anyone who smokes regular cigerattes, It stinks smelling it on other ppl, After 3weeks you can't stand to be around any regular cigeratte smoke, After a month if you even try to smoke a regular cigeratte it will make almost make you puke,
If you smoke newport try the 36str menthol from totally wicked e liquid or puresmoker, And mix a little bit of apple nic juice with it, from what I hear on the forum that taste like a newport.
Cignot is a great place to get starter kits and supplies. They are located in the midwest and ship really fast. I just got the Joye 510 kit and absolutely love it. A couple good sites for juice here in the states are Vapeatron and wet your stick e-liquid. Happy vaping Flea
Well, a few months later and I finally ordered my kit and supplies. I hope to have them next week sometime. I got the Joye 510 starter kit with a few bottles of juice and a travel pack. The one I ordered comes with two complete e cigs, one manual and one auto battery. I am going to get some more goodies but figured I had better hold off and see if I like it first. I will let you guys know what I think of it.
Edit: + for everyone that responded!

GREAT! I almost sent you a PM last month, to see if you had tried it yet. My friend bought the Joye 510, he likes it a lot and it is a very nice set up. Still using my home-made laser pointer rig and so far I have not smoked in 5 months (just checked: over $1,000 saved and 5462 cigarettes not smoked, wow!). Stick with it and give it a fair chance, I bet it will work for you too.
About two months ago when everyone was talking about these, I ordered the 510 starter kit from nhaler.com. I have not smoked in 9 weeks now. I was smoking almost two packs of Marlboro Ultra Lights a day and quit the day I received my e-cig. I love the little thing, it's great. I've gone down from 24mg e-juice to 12mg e-juice already and couldn't even tell the difference. I like the Marlboro flavored kind the best out of the ones I have tried. If anyone has any questions, just pm or email me.
Well, I got it. Amazing how much like smoking this is! One thing I found is I am not quite the nicotine hound I thought I was. I smoke full flavor Winston 100's or Marlboro, smoked Camel 100's before they stopped making them, and no, 99's are not the same cigarette. I got the 24mg juice and I have not had such a nicotine rush since the last time I started smoking after quitting. Too strong for me. Part of this is that I am what's called a short inhaler I guess. The pre loaded carts I got were not so good, RY4. but the nic level is better. These dam carts don't last any time at all! I really like the auto battery.
I ordered some 18mg juice and 10 blank carts from Awesome vapor Thurs and was hoping it might come by today, but apparently they shipped it today, so next week I guess
Until I can get set up with a cart that lasts at least as long a cigarette this is just a novelty.
The E cig forum has a lot of good info but is so dam big it is hard to find info or, find it again.
Ok, got the rest of my stuff and this is great! I am still smoking but way way less. I need to order more or stronger batteries too. Now that I have been vaping awhile I now prefer the manual battery. And dam, I got used to the 24mg and the 36ml of 18 I bought just doesn't do it for me.
The sample cappuccino juice I got is pretty dam good!
The Virginia tastes like a pine tree not tobacco
The Marb, Winston and Camel juices are all pretty good.
I recommend all smokers to give these things a try! As said, I still smoke but am paying WAY less money to the gov for the privilege that is worth it right there.

I am a very occasional mostly never type smoker.... would one of these be a neat thing to get ahold of? My buddies smoke alot.. and they usually pressure me into it.. and while I dont mind, it usually makes me feel like ass.
I have a friend who swears by them, he used to smoke constantly. After buying a electric cigarette he has been able to cut down to using the electric cigarette to only when drinking. Even if it turns out to be worse for you than real cigarettes he uses it little enough that he might still be better off.

I could say a lot about this scenario but will just say if you don't want to, don't do it.
Sounds like you should turn your buddies on to these e smokes though. It is an investment, I need to spend more money already because my batteries don't last long enough.

but a friend has a smoke vaporizer, at least I think that is what its called. very little flavor of the weed comes threw that unless you take a real big hit.
Amy and I bought E-cigarettes this past weekend. We went with the Vapor brand due to the fact that friends use this brand, and there is a shop local to us. Now, I haven't been exactly useing it much. But, I am looking to use this a a stop smoking tool. We both smoke about a half of a pack per day. We really want to knock that down to zero.
So far we have bought several different flavors. We have a small bottles of vanilla, and what is supposed to be Camel Lights. I smoke Marlboro Lights, but did not like the Marlboro taste. What I do like is the watermelon flavor. I bought a large bottle of this.
