It's only $15 bucks at that website.
I would have to say that for 99.999999999% of the people on the planet, it's not worth it at all.
Poor visually, virtually no sound, small screen.
But
very interesting to freaks like us!
Stuff like this: In the first scene where Martin Sheen is in the hotel room waiting for a mission ("to be sent up like so much roomservice"), in this workprint there is an extended scene where he is getting a little rough in bed with a vietnamesse whore, who runs out of the room.
In the other versions, they dwell on the fact that he is alone in the room.
You might say "So what", but that little change has a HUGE impact on the whole movie, in my opinion.
In the version everyone see's, you get the impression that he is a severe loner, which goes along with the kinds of "eraser" work he has done in the past, and makes him the perfect entity for this mission.
But now we know he wasn't as severe a loner as we were led to believe.
Changes the whole feel of the man, the mission, and the movie.
And THAT'S why I dig it so much.
Like the first time I seen the "Redux" version.
ALMOST a whole different movie!
