Never thought Krispy Kreme and hamburger could go together. Oh well, it's a muffin top special, hehe.

http://www.csmonitor.com/Mo...tate-fairs.-Tomorrow

The Krispy Kreme cheeseburger – that's right, a cheeseburger between doughnut halves – reportedly got its start when a chef in Decatur, Ga., came up with the idea. The chef, Chandler Goff, named it the Luther Burger.
That's when the doughnut/burger combination began to attract all kinds of attention. Sports Illustrated, ESPN, CNN, and others reported on the Grizzlies' burger. Paula Deen, of TV cooking fame, added an egg to the Luther Burger and loved it.

Word began to spread.

Admittedly, the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger (KKC) sounds atrocious to just about everyone who hasn't tried one. The doughnut is halved, then its cut sides are grilled and become the outside of the sandwich so that the sugary glaze makes mortal contact with the cheese and the meat.

Even if that sounds good, there are all kinds of objections from the eat-healthy crowd.

Nevertheless, the sweet 'n salty combination seems to be attracting a growing number of fans.

The KKC appeared at a Massachusetts fair in 2009 and at this year's Kentucky and Wisconsin state fairs.

The Machine Shed, a restaurant with a food concession at the Wisconsin State Fair, told the Milwaukee Journal it expected to sell about 3,500 Krispy Kreme cheeseburgers over the first three days of the fair. About a quarter of its customers were pitching in an extra buck for the side order of chocolate-covered bacon.

So it seems only a matter of time before restaurants begin to pick up on the idea.

Chef Goff's restaurant is now shuttered. But earlier this month, the blog A Hamburger Today reviewed a KKC at Rub BBQ in New York City: "The sweetness of the doughnut didn't overpower the deeply charred, moist patty combined with the toppings of sautéed onions, cheese, pickle chips, and chipotle aioli," wrote reviewer Robyn Lee.

According to the blog, Crave Shack in nearby Astoria, N.Y., offers its own version: the Crave Doughnut Burger.

Late last year, some news reports suggested that the Wendy's fast-food chain might be interested in buying Krispy Kreme, which could have made the KKC a quick national phenomenon. But no deal materialized.

Fans of healthful eating can breathe a sigh of relief – for the moment. Fans of Ms Deen will have to wait or make it themselves.

Ohh--our county fair will be here in Nov--I gotta get me a concession stand for this before someone else snaps it up.
I lost out on the ground up sausage stuffed into a fried jalepeno already.
These egg and cheese breakfast ones look kinda nasty,

but this looks great!!

And here's how ya make it:
1 pound 85% hamburger
1/4 cup onion, finely diced
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
4 slices American or cheddar cheese
4 Krispy Kreme Glazed Donuts, sliced in half
4 fried eggs the way you like them
8 slices cooked bacon, broken in half

How To Make a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Krispy Kreme Burger

In a medium size bowl, mix hamburg, onion, salt & pepper, garlic powder, and parsley together, and form into 4 equal sized patties. Grill or pan fry them according to your preference. Place a slice of cheese on top of the hot burger to melt slightly.
On 4 plates, place half the Krispy Kreme Donut on a plate, cut side up.
Add 1 hot cheese topped hamburger to the donut, and stack the hot fried egg on top, followed by the remaining donut half. Press together lightly,or stick a frill pick or skewer through the center.

or:

throw on a side order of chicken fried bacon with it and you're ready for whatever the day brings ya!!

I blame Mcdonalds! No really I have to....

When Mcdonalds came out (it was a special here the month of the superbowl this year) with the 50pc chicken nuggets for 10 bucks deal my friend and I couldn't pass up the challenge and price. The challenge? Could you eat all 50pc chicken nuggets within a reasonable time frame. We both did it under 20 minutes... I didn't feel right for the next two days. My body literally didn't take that well, but it was fun! I will never do it again though. So...next year if they do it...there is your challenge and heart attack!
