Next year is my year to slim down, already got some new equipment at the house and plan on getting a bike soon. Then perhaps a bicycle
I have had some health challenges over the last two years and recently started on a new drug that is helping me feel more like my old self, only younger. So if I can keep my job I should continue to improve and meet my goal of losing 30 pounds next year.

Starting January 1, I plan on losing 80 pounds in the new year at the (what I feel is realistic & healty) rate of no less then 10 pounds a month. Cutting fat & carb intake by 2/3's & sugar by 1/2. No candy, no butter, little breads. Lean meats, salads, yogart, fruit, popcorn, water water water.

According to that chart, I'd be considered "large frame". OK... LOL.
It's ironic, because I'm not fat. I can "pinch an inch" on my tummy, and that's about it. But I'm pretty muscular. I guess the charts can't account for that.
BMI charts are the same way. They peg me as "borderline overweight".
You can only do so much with a chart. And body weight isn't the best indicator of general health, anyway. I personally would be more worried about cardiovascular fitness (or lack thereof), and blood sugar / fat / cholesterol / etc levels. Once you address those issues, everything else should fall into place.

Damn, I'm screwed... I'm 6'-1/2" and the chart doesn't cover 1/2"...
I am at 164 lbs now, was at about 145 lbs 4 years ago. I finally started eating better and put on about 20 lbs but haven't gained anymore. It's a good thing though because at 145 I was to skinny. I'd guess I'm medium framed although I really am not sure how you judge that. Going by that chart looks like I'm sitting pretty.

A quick way is to wrap your thumb & index finger around your wrist. If they overlap, you are small frame If they touch, you are medium frame If they do not, you are large frame

weight isnt everything. muscle weighs more than fat. that said, i think the charts are a tad on the light side. i'm on the upper side of my specified weight range, but if i lose 5 lbs, people say i look lean and hungry.

Yeah... I'm not real sure I believe that. I'm 6' 2", weigh 190lbs. and wear a size 34 waist. I know it isn't exact science, but according to that test I am a large frame.

Oh, it was Bigfieroman:

A few of you are aware that I began losing weight this year. This thread is not to brag (well, maybe a little), but more to inspire everyone here who wants to lose some weight. I did this all with no drugs, surgery, starvation, or bulimia. The following changes are due to DIET and EXERCISE.
I have always been fat compared to others...I was chubby through childhood and shot up to full-on obese in high school and college. I always promised myself that I would get my weight under control once I graduated college and got a stable job. Meanwhile, my weight went from 300 after high school to 370 during college to 415 after college (before weight loss).
A year ago I started Weight Watchers, and have lost weight every week for the last year. About 3 months ago, I started lifting weights and playing raquettball, and go roughly 5 times a week.
I went from a 4XL to an XL. I went from a 50 waist to a 38 (actual loss was more than that, but I am wearing my pants in a different place now). I went from a 14 ring size to a 12. I went from a 13EE to a 11.5EE shoe. I went from a 20.5" neck to a 17" neck.
Overall, I lost almost 170 lbs. I aim to lose about 50 more, or to hit 10-13% body fat, whichever happens first. BMI guidelines say that I am supposed to lose another 80 pounds at least, but they are a crock. I hope to be close to my goal for the upcoming summer!
Very insparational!

Eating right is not a diet, changing your food intake to something you can maintain but less than what your eating now will help. Do not change too drastically or you will not lose, if your body thinks its starving it will store food. The best way is to work then reward your body with food. I think I will also look into supplements, I do a lot of sitting on my ass at my job so I need to figure out a way to balance that. Next year there are no more elevators. Stairs only, going to turn my walk between buildings for lunch into a walk around the block and start packing a good lunch. I use to eat a lot of fruit for lunch and lost 15 pounds in 3 months, thats my plan for the new year. Plus if I add exercise it shouldn't take as long. My goal is to be at or under 200 pounds by this time next year.

I suppose I'm within their range. I'm 6'-3" and 182 lbs. My finger and thumb almost touch so I guess I'm somewhere between medium and large. I run and work out and my job keeps my active. I'm 39 but can still run circles around a lot of the 25 year olds I work with. That's right. I'm having a "yay me" moment.

So, frontal lobe, ideal weight means for an ideal world or ideal existence, right? Then I don't need to pay any attention to these charts. Where did I put those black heels?
