Last night PFF Forum member Robert Finley (RobsFieros) of the East Tennessee Fiero Club and Derek (flyboy81)were towing a car and while stopped to check the straps, Robbie was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Robbie's Uncle, Darrell Finley reports that Robbie is still unconscious and in ICU at: Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tn,.
At the moment, the report is that both arms and legs were broken, along with a number of ribs and he had a serious cut on his head.
I don't have phone numbers at this time, and he hasn't been assigned a room, yet. I'll update as I get more information.
Best to check the Georgia Fiero Club website at www.gafiero.org Go to the Message Board, New Forum, General Discussion. I'll try to update there as I have information.
Edit for Paypal Contribution Information. Gary Murray has set up a paypal account. To contribute to the RobsFieros fund, use
etfc159@yahoo.com Gary will periodically transfer funds to Gail Finley.

Robbie is still unconscious. I don't know if it's induced, or as a result of the accident. They have done some procedures on his legs. They were concerned that there was no circulation, but after the procedure, there is indication that he has recovered some circulation. The cut on his head isn't as serious as first believed.
The young man who hit him apparently did stop. The report I have is that they were checking the straps on the dolly and the driver was coming straight at them. Derek dove for the ditch and Robbie ran the other way. The driver swerved back onto the roadway and struck Robbie. He was carried by med-evac helicopter to Chattanooga.

Man that just sucks, I was just talking to Robbie about a Quad-4 swap last week. I can't put into words what I feel right now. But my families thoughts and prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time.

Nothing new to report. This morning, the report was that they expect it to be a very long recovery process. maybe 3-4 months. Hope you ETFC guys will keep that shop going in his absence. At least enough to pay the rent. Make sure his landlord doesn't steal him blind in his absence.

I feel sick t the stomach to hear this terrible news. I don't know him, but he is a PFF'er, and that is more than good enough for me to send a prayer and thoughts to him and his family. I also pray that the driver has adequate Insurance, to ensure the recovery will be controlled by the very best. God Bless Nick

This is the latest from Derek===-Flyboy81 Taken in part from a posting on the ETFC and GFC forums.
Thus far, he is critical but stable condition. His leg is still a concern but his head is most important thing right now. They are concerned about the swelling on his brain. Thus far, shattered bone below the left knee, broke in three places below the left shoulder, broken once below right shoulder, several broken ribs, broken clavical, bone above the left eye, nose, and I think rear shoulder blade are all parts of the injury list.
My GOD that is a terrible list of serious injuries. How old is he? Mind you, to survive this long, and being in the hands of people who work wonders nowadays, I hope he will make a full recovery. can't help but ask...is there any news about the driver? WAS it a sad accident, or negligence? It sounds to me like a young driver not being competent enough to deal with a crisis, and panicked. If it WAS a terrible accident caused by pure bad luck, then maybe we should spare a thought for the driver too? If he is not to blame, he must be suffering mentally as well. Nick

I know from reading the post about how it happened, it is easy for the eye to read the words wrongly. The young man who was driving DID stop. Just to confirm this from the post above, for those who misread it too Nick
