I don't like this person and don't need them posting in threads I start.
Hugh, maybe drop a hint to this person that you're not the least bit interested in buying or selling real estate and perhaps he'll (oops) this person will then go hang elsewhere.

All I wanted to know is who the stalker is. At least I now know who Patrick thinks it is.

The flaw, IMO, is the lack of anything between "just deal with it" and "campaign to have the offending person banned". Other forums DO have ignore features. This is something that is built into recent phpBB software. You can see an example of it at the Ars Technica forum. Over there, it's called the "friends and foes" feature. Anyone who you mark as a "foe" is automatically ignored, and their PMs blocked. Anyone set to "friend" can view your online status, and initiate chat sessions. It's a pretty cool feature, and IMO can be very useful.
Edit to add: here's a link to all the features available in the phpBB software

Cool, perhaps you could go and build the "perfect" Fiero Forum.
Nothing personal man, but I see this type of stuff as an attack on Cliff. This is his Forum, he created it, and wrote the code for it. 20,000 members seem to think it's fine the way it is.
There is room for improvement in everything, but seriously you guys are here nearly 24-7, yet #$@! about how crappy the features are. Why are you still here if it's so bad?
Like I said, it's not personal, there are 3 people or so in a group of 20,000 that want a change, and scream about it at every chance. Let it go already.

So just because you think it's a cool feature, and PFF doesn't offer that feature, it's a "flaw in the system"?

And BTW, it's freeware... open source.
So? You want me to switch to phpBB just because it offers an "ignore" option? Yeah, let's. Forget the fact there are tons of options available in the PFF software that aren't available in phpBB. Let's give them all up so you can have your ignore button.
There's absolutely nothing the phpBB software can do that my software can't. If the option is not available, it's because I chose to not have it available. That's not a flaw, it's a choice. The other way around, there are many, many things my software can do that the phpBB software can't. Not without installing a ton of mods anyway which all add to the instability of the phpBB software. I run another forum which is running on phpBB software. Even though it gets about 0.1% of the traffic PFF gets, I spend more time keeping that up and running than PFF.

This is correct. I had assumed it would go without saying. But I guess I was wrong. I will try to be more specific in the future.
Rrrrright. It goes without saying that you only agreed with part of his message.

I didn't want to start any problems with this thread, but it looks like a few have surfaced. It is common knowledge that I don't like Toddster, and he is the one I don't want in my threads. There is a thread I started about my grandson signing with the Miami Dolphins. He posted in that, but only to raise his post count, nothing more! I would much rather have some of the members he has driven off the forum than him here,at least they were honest. How do people achieve the level of self-importance that Toddster has assumed and still be able to communicate ?He must be as smart and important as he says he is ! Even with what I've said about Toddster, please don't turn this into a Toddster bashing thread.
I like that there is no "ignore" button. You can't click ignore in real life. Not saying forums are just like real life but you probably get my point. Banning people based on ratings is not like real life either but I don't mind that feature either. Cliff is not a dictator.

OK, I kinda have a solution, but it'll take smarter brains than mine.
Someone write a script where we can block a keyword, this would be the members username that you want to block, whenever the keyword is spotted the script will create a black mark all the way across the screen for a set number of pixels (or the post if that's possible.) Make it a bookmarklet, and your set.
It would solve the issues set forth here.
They used to have a similar firefox add on that would bleed oil over the word BP, running down the page. Perhaps you could disassemble that and use it?

Even if there were an 'ignore' button, I am willing to bet most people wouldn't be able to resist not clicking it, just to see what the 'ignoree' said That is human nature Anyway, ignoring their rants is much more fulfilling, because they KNOW you have read them, and have the strength of mind to refuse to be drawn into their childish nonsense Trolls only succeed because we FEED THEM!!

That's an idea, a client-side ignore button. Is that possible? I know zero about html, but I'd pay real cash for something like that here.

PS: I don't need a button to "Ignore" this thread from now on.
People with properly functioning brains don't. Then there are the others, who, for whatever reason, can't simply NOT read something they don't want to read, or not read a post by someone they know they don't like.

I can't believe that post was not intended to insult me(you aren't the only that can use double negatives}.It is you who follows Toddster around with a shovel and bucket. You SEEM to be an intelligent person, why would you want to be associated with a man who obviously lies to achieve his goals?

I like this place... this is the only forum that I'm actually actively a part of. I don't think there's anyone on here who actually "HATES" me... although maybe there's quite a few people who I annoy from time to time... hahah...
Not withstanding Hugh's little friend, I think most people here just need to take a step back once in a while and realize that this is just a message board. If you can't get along here... you probably don't get along very well in real life. This is semi-good experience for learning how to deal with different personalities, including your own.
You'll find that even though on the surface we may seem totally different, there's a lot that we actually have in common. News flash, this is a Fiero message board... we all like Fieros.
Ray B and Neptune are polar opposites... and while I'm sure they wouldn't want me dating their daughters, we each have something in common.

Well said and I agree. I gave you a + for this in a thread that probably will generate many negs.

Just curious, but I'm guesssing these lies were about you. Could you refresh our minds as to what was alledged about you?
What, you're expecting Hugh to provide you a report on all the BS and personal attacks (on multitudes of members) that Todd posted in the forum over the years? You've been here the whole time. If you can't remember this crap (or if you simply ignored it), look it up for yourself. It's not difficult to find.

It is more aimed at JazzMan, but anyone who complains about a thread they don't like rather that STOPPING reading it would be included. You can decide for yourself if that means you.

First of all,I started this thread. Are you suggesting I stop reading a thread I started because I don't like who posted in it? I also don't believe it was aimed at JazzMan !
