I know they had them in the 60’s, the back, back window in frt. of the trunk. When I was a kid one of the owners of the bar down the street had one. I forget the year.

Anyone? I know roger knows.
we watched the green hornet today and it got me thinking about that one.

Dont know about the Imperial, but I do know the Mercury Monterey had a roll down back window ('63-'64)

It was called the "breezeway" option.

Lincoln 4 doors from 58-1960 models, along with Mercurys who shared the same roof. It was electric and went down behind the seat. None were ever sliders. Imperials nor any other Mopar I know of, had an opening rear window. Soft top convertibles of the time did have plastic windows that could be unzipped and drop down into the well.
I had two 59 and one 60 Lincoln with them. The cheaper model and 2 doors had a traditional wrap around rear glass.

I remember the Mercs and Lincolns, but I don't remember the roll down window in the Imperial

Could it have been a hard top convertible and he just lowered the window? I'm not finding anything on these (not finding a hard top convertible either).

No older convertible hardtop Mopars... I think first available was 07 Sebring...avail with hard or soft folding top. Im guessing your memory is a little off and it was a convertible with the back window unzipped. If it was a hardtop, he took out the back glass and modified it. I Cant even remember any Mopar with a flat rear window that could go down if you modified it. If you look at the Lincoln and Mercurys with it, the back window was near vertical.
