when was SEMA this year? i am very upset, i just got back from Vegas today, been there since thursday, and never gave SEMA a thought
thanks for the great pics, and for ruining my day
The SEMA show is always held the first week of November. I on the other hand decided to buy a Kodak disposable camera. Thinking I was going to use it since my digital camera's flash needed repair I thought I'd use that sorry piece of crap Kodak. The Kodak was a total failure. Most of the pics where fuzzy and blurred. I didn't realize this until I payed the $5.99 to develop the pictures.
Here's a pic using my non-flashing digital camera.
Black colored cars I've always had a difficult time capturing the image. Either the flash or operator error.
The Camero was tub-out using very wide PZeros on the rears. The car won 1st in it's class (I think it was hot rod). Why? Because of the rear being tub-out. The back seat were smaller for the massive 405's to fit. The Camero didn't have a wide body kit. The wheels were set inward like a drag car.

I never looked at the Elise tail lamps in detail, but a far cry from the tired Ferrari lamps. I like the way the lamps and fascia is wrapped into the body. The after market kits commonly seen here are in need of a serious make over.
I'm not 1--% sure, but I think underneath this theme car is a Celica.

The last couple of years the after market companies were and still are making Camero kits like crazy, but I like the new Caddy. I'm totally blown away.I have new found respect for Cadillac. Here's why.
A matt black wide body Caddy.
Obviously, this isn't your daddy's Caddy.

A new company making similar knock-off style from HRE and others. The wheels are a two piece design using 6061 aluminum. The wheels are around $500 a piece. The company is from Tawian, but I have more info later regarding the details.
Not many styles, but they will make in various bolt patterns and off-set (including the 5x100). I asked about damaged wheels and how do you fix them when the company is based in Tawian. I personally prefer HRE, but if you're on a budget then this might be a alternative. They make them in chrome, high polish and color combination. Turn around is 2-3 weeks.

I was in the building that housed everything regarding wheels and believe me-there were many, many companies (some old and some new). On the lower end of the market are these wheels made by TSW. I talked to the sales person and he mentioned that the wheels are made in bulk and like most of us know already know. Once they're produced-that's it. The only ones I like were these.
Looks are deceiving thus the company only makes this style in 5x100, but with a shorter lip.
The sales guy said they use to buy this style and with wider lip, but after doing the numbers-it wasn't good business. I did mentioned AudiTT and VW cars using 5x100, but he said 8.5" is as wide as they will go.

Super high end Iforged wheels. I believe the center piece is coated.
Another company taking it a step beyond coating. The entire outer and inner lip is carbon fiber. The company is in it's early development stage and is testing the market. I know HRE did make a wheel using carbon fiber, but they had issues with the wheel splitting.
another wheel company:
No application unless you roll on a unibike.
This style was out several years ago and the cost was around 20k
I've seen better examples and this R8 looks trashed IMHO.
