Thank goodness you got a "Real" Ferrari and not a fake. I saw a similar Ferrari on the Speed Channel show last night. The owner had HRE 547s on all corners and it looke updated and sweet. My question to you is: when are you going to gut it and throw in a LS3?

The revving is all fine and dandy but dump the clutch at the top of the rev or something. Ferrari's sound best bouncing off the rev limiter with a cloud of smoke behind them.

I've never been a big fan of the 348 (I like the 355, myself), but I have to admit that it looks very nice with the newer wheels......I agree that the stock ones make it look dated. Congrats on the purchase.

Hard to say, I think they both have similar HP ratings so in a straight line probably would be a toss up. I would think the Ferrari would have better handling since the GBCT was still stock 87 suspension.
While it's true you can get into a 348 for as little as $30k, I learned in my 2 years of research that those are the ones you should tend to stay away from. Quite often they are not "fully" serviced which entails a complete engine removal to get to the belts, among other things. This service can start at $7k and it can go up quickly from there depending on what needs to be done. Mine had the engine out service last April at 24.5k miles, and it now has 25.5k miles. Service is good for 30k miles I think, or 4 years, which ever comes first. If you get an cheap one, it can often cost you more in the long run. Mine has been well sorted, serviced, and documented from nearly day 1. The service is regarded as excessive for the amount of things that are replaced regardless of mileage, but it just makes sense to do them while the engine is out. I have a box of all of the parts from the last service, and most of them look like they came right out of the package. The belt even appeared brand new...
Here is an example of a guy that got a 348 for upper $20's I believe, and I understand the service is quickly approaching $20k for as bad of condition as it was. Once he is done, it will be a very nice car again though.
What I'd like to see is a "Joel's former cars and motorcycle's" thread... you've had some crazy nice and unique things come and go in your driving career... and I am only cognizant of the stuff since 2002!

I had to sit down and really think about it...
Since 2002 I have had 18 vehicles (bikes and cars....) Only got rid of one that had been wrecked (then repaired) , all the rest were pretty good, except the Ninja 250....

Hello, beautiful! Is that a challange grill, not sure very nice. Thanks Norm
Guy that made it calls it a "LeMans" grill....similar to the challenge from what I understand. I think it makes it look like a proper Ferrari, getting rid of the bbq grill lights.

Nice, but I like the orignial. If the sreen continued in and around the lights I think it would look a better IMHO. Either it's win-win because the car is the real thing and those wheels are killer!
While I am no Ferrari historian, I understand the early 90's 348, Mondial and TR were the ONLY Ferrari's that did not have ROUND tail lights.
I think this (in addition to the wheels) makes it look more updated IMO. These lights were off a 360 ( also used on 355, 550, 575, 512M) and are a LOT brighter than the stock, which can't be a bad thing.
All parts from the conversion were saved if returning to stock is ever desired.
