I wanted this at the top of the page.

The order for replacement t-top seals has been placed!

Although these seals are not inexpensive, we think you'll agree that
replacement seals for your t-top Fiero will greatly enhance its
value and your pleasure of owning.

We've only received 23 pre-orders for seals so far, which is much less
than the number needed. In order to make this deal
happen, we're investing a substantial amount of our own money. As a
result, after this Tuesday (the 11th) at 5pm ET the price must increase for those who have
no paid pre-order, all payments must be in by that time. The new price will be $707 (+$10 for shipping) per
set. We understand these seals are expensive and this is a lot of
money, however, know that we are investing substantially more money.

It's unfortunate that there are some members who choose to make rude
and attacking comments. We recently received a message telling us to "go
shove your seals up your AS$". This is uncalled for, unnecessary,
a disservice to the Fiero community and find
this behavior extremely rude. We're doing our best once more, to get
high quality (low quantity) reproduction parts available. We too wish the price was
substantially less, but in the world of custom, low quantity parts,
this is the reality.

Thank You,
Tim

Tim,
I know it's still early but any guess on delivery?

Do you still need to approve the prototype?

Thanks again!

Hey there,
Just checking in for any updates, news, or potential problems on the order. I'm so close to being home. And I'm going to have new parts to play with... Yes! This is going to rule. An original 88 cjb with new seals and a new engine... Now all I have to do is rebuild the entire interior. Thanks for pushing through with the deal.

True, that could go either way. I'll be checking in later, if I can to see what's up.

This does not look very good right now since I just got a refund of my T-Top seals deposit.

I hope you are all sitting for this one.

On July 17th I received a email from the owner of the company (very old school and very hard to deal with) we have been dealing with to have the Fiero “CJB” t-top weather seals made, informing us that the person I have been dealing with was not authorized to extend the pricing beyond the 60 days, matter of fact he informed that the 30 days is the time limit for all the quotes they write. (keep in mind that no where on the quote does it have a time frame) What precipitated all this was my check and the quote showing up on his desk to get this project moving. We have been going back and forth by email and phone over the past week and half and this is what I have been told.
“The mold makers who bid for tooling have gotten other work, and now we
must find other suitable craftsmen....and, the acceptance period has elapsed. However, a third issue is now also involved. Since rubber is a by-product of oil, and since oil prices have been rising steadily, we must review what our rubber compounds and chemicals are costing us. Cost of rubber is now based upon weekly announcements from our suppliers. We are now being told by Standard Oil that prices have risen again. This will affect any and all work we do. The time table to start is going to be closer to 7-9 months at this junction .

We suggest you take note of this information, and if you anticipate getting started on this project, you act within the thirty day time period on any new submission for part production.”

I asked why a price increase on the molds and the reply was platinum silicone has gone up. That is what the use to make the molds. So the bid went back out and came back 12.31% higher, that’s right 12.31 flippen percent over all, sounds like bullshit to me since he had replied to my last email of July 7th letting him know the paper work and check is on the way, and to top it off they have already cashed my check. My attorney told me “by the fact that they cashed the check that would be acceptance of the original terms in which it was sent and accepted /cashed”. With the company 2,500 miles away it’s a fight I can’t afford to win. I can not afford to make up the difference in the price of the seals pre- sold and for the molds and the other sets I have to buy to complete the order, thereby I have requested my money and seals be returned. All payments made by PayPal have just been return in full (check your email) and those that mailed in payments will go out in the mail first thing in the morning.

I feel really bad about this whole fiasco and I know some of you will be pissed off and I’ll more then likely pick up a few negatives for it, but hay, I tried. With shelling out almost $30,000 for the seals and molds I just can’t go any more, this has consumed a lot of my time and energy. For those that sent a payment I will offer my apology and to make up for it, offer you the chance to purchase one set of P-seals (2) at 50% off, reg. $110.00 a set/pair for $55.00 plus shipping of $10.00 Once again I’m very sorry that this is not going forward.

That sucks. I'm very dissappointed in their tatics to get more money, and what a crappy way of doing business. Thanks for the effort Tim, I appreciate it. Looks like I'll have to take you up on the offer of the P-seals though. PM sent your way -Jason

Tim,

Sorry about the bad deal. I was not sure why you sent the PayPal back but I RESENT it before I read the forums! Ack!

Please refund me again (590 plus 17.93 payment)

I too would like some P seals

Please put me in for 4 P Seals (2 sets) non-CJB

Thanks for your effort. I can understand how hard these deals can be to put together.

Sometimes things happen.. even the best plans don't always work out. It stinks!

I'm glad you're an honest seller, and returning people's money promptly. That goes a long way in my book.

What about the seals you were working on that were hybrids of other vehicles. Any chance on going back to that plan? I remember a posting about some seals that were seamed together, and like a 90% match or so?

Tim, maybe you should try that company again, just here me out. All the reasons they gave for the increase in the price quote, now can be turned around on them, it is a buyers market, gas prices have come down, economy is slowing, maybe they need the work and might be a little more willing to come to the table. Worst they say is no.
My 2 cents!

Great idea Fiero John...But keep in mind that the elections are over and now gas prices are on there way up. I hate politics!
