No news on the spacers yet. Apparently my manufacturer is extremely busy with a huge order they got just after New Years. This won't affect our order, but it has affected his available time to search for the appropriate round bar-stock (they don't stock alot of stuff to keep over-head down in their small shop). I am also looking to get some round bar-stock, chop-saw them at my other friends shop, and then drill them on my press. For the guys who asked for the spacers: I WILL get this issue resolved. Please be patient and lets get the brackets done first. I hope you all can understand this.
Thanks Bob

I found the spacers at Lowes in their specialty hardware drawers... They were longer than spec for this application, but everythinng else was right. I used a cut saw and chopped them to the correct length. It only cost me 2 bucks? Maybe not even that much.

I still haven't gotten any news on the 5 degree rear brackets (rotated?), but check towards the end of this thread for the pics.....sorry I don't remember the page number
By the way......the totals are in. It looks like 15 sets total for the order. I will be e-mailing my manufacturer tomorrow with the order. I do thank all the people who have sent in their paypals....5 or 6 (one pending in new account) out of 15. I am really concerned that the other 7 or 8 ( #9 is a possible trade and # 10 is a cash-in-hand) that said "I want a set of yor brake brackets" and that I PM'd or e-mailed haven't responded at all and still haven't sent payments. I hope I am not getting stuck with extra sets that won't be sold. I am not trying to sound like a PITA here, but I can't afford to eat that much monetary loss ( we are talking about $600.00 here). My last sets of bracket orders went great with alot (20) of happy guys, but left me with an unpaid $32.00 shipping bill (still waiting for that payment from one person).
Thanks
Bob

Just to let everyone know........the brackets are done!. I guess I am going to have to get "sick" and leave work early one day this week so I can pick them up. I'll let each of you know when they are shipped. I might be going away this weekend to the O.C. (my b-day and all), but not sure yet.
I still haven't heard from Dougg, htexans1, and 87FieroGT about payment yet, so I might have a few extra sets available to anyone interested. Last chance for the above three to PM me or something. If I don't here from you three, I will assume that you are not interested and sell to someone else. One of you even ordered an extra set of rear 5 degree brackets!
P.S. Don't forget to chase all the threads with a 7/16-20 thread chaser/tap to be sure they are clean!

Did I miss the part where the need for the spacers was discussed? They sound like something that could easily be made at home with a drill press and the right stock thickness. Where do they go, and why?

The spacers are used to position the caliper in correct alignment with the rotor, they can be made simply at home. Except for me, I have very limited access to anything here since I am not bothering to learn German...

The brackets are in! I am trying to start shipping this weekend. I will PM each person as they go out.
By the way, it looks like Dougg.....htexans1.....87FieroGT are out. No response to any of my many PM's about payment or their interest.
So it looks like there will be three more sets available with the 10 degree rears. I will also have one extra pair of 5 degree rear brackets. These will sell for $46.00 shipped. I can mix and match also.
It looks like one of the extra sets is spoken for by Fieroseverywhere....so that leaves two remaining.
Thanks to all that ordered and paid...they will be on the way very soon!

Sorry for the brief delay, but my wife surprised me with (I suspected anyway) a trip to our place in O.C. Maryland for my b-day. My job put a small glitch in sending stuff out easrly this week and now it looks like the weather is getting pretty severe around here for the next day or so (ICE STORM), but I should be sending most of them out this saturday...2 day priority. I will PM eveyone whose sets I get out.

for thoose looking for the hard to find rear calipers, monsterparts direct sells the GM rebuilt for relatively cheap
price for complete calipers w/o brake pads and without the support (part the hub bolts too) is 56.53 ea and a 55.20 core on each. Shipping for both would be 20.35. The core is refundable upon return of a core. These are GM reman calipers as GM no longer produces them new. I checked the country and there are no new GM's laying around anywhere
he will credit you the core if you send them ahead of time
the rest of the parts are relatively easy to find
here is the link on this forum under the mall section

I just found this post and see everyone that is doing this conversion. If you guys want I will put up all the specs on these calipers and form a group purchase price for you all. (if I order bulk of a part# I can get them a little cheaper) I will let you know how many I need to get the pricing. Whoever is interested email me at ptrageser@patriotofboyertown.com

Just a heads-up. The last three "shippable" sets are going out this Sat. Sorry guys....work and weather around here has been a pain.
I do have one "extra" pair or rear 5 degree offset brackets available. They were "ordered" but never "purchased". They would be $46.00 shipped in the US.
Thanks to all you guys.....first group and second....that purchased these. Since the demand has dried up, this probably will be the last ones I have made. Unless there is a surge in want for these.....maybe...............?
Good luck to all !!!!

Are you talking about the caddy calipers that allow you to use the ebrake or are you talking about a different set? This is a pretty good price if its for the caddy calipers.

Well, the last three sets finally got shipped yesterday.....these were the "overseas" ones. Iain, LFiero67, and Superdave......all on the way.
Another interesting tid-bit.......I found the perfect front spacers! They carry them at Sears Hardware and Lowe's......they are 1/2" ID X 1" OD X 7/16"(.43275) thick "shaft collars"....located in the small hardware drawers. Got mine today after I met GODFATHER to give him his brackets.
Good luck to all!

One question about the conversion, in the Walt Zettner the spacer in from need to be .435 tick, how come everybody here is talking about a .43275 tick, will it have a big difference??. I did mine with my front disk, before I took of the rotor I cut it to the exact thickness for the front spacer, all I need to do is drill and make the spacer.
Just for your information I tried the front setup on a 2000 cavalier wheel and it wont fit, the caliper touch the wheel, I will need a front spacer, I have the 98 cavalier wheel I suppose they have the same inner diameter.
Just want to share with you guy's, I can't wait to try the conversion with my 3.8 supercharged.
