It appears that I have renewed interest in the brake brackets as I was asked about them at the Carlisle show. If anyone is interested, just let me know. I will need at least 10 orders before my guy will cut them out.
Foxgapfiero is the first to start the new list. I know a few others had asked, but I cannot remember who did so please ask here or PM me with the request.

h.d.fire:

If you want just the fronts I'd be interested in splitting a set as I just want the rears. Perhaps rjblaze will ship the fronts to you and the rears to me?

As soon as I get at least 10 sets ordered and verified I can contact the machine shop...they will not do a run of less than ten sets. So far we are half-way there.

Sourmug and h.d.fire....I can split a set between you no problem....they will be $43.00 + shipping for each set.
All Canadian buyers.....please send me your shipping address so I can check on the shipping cost for you. The quoted price included shipping to the US only via USPS priority. I need different boxes for shipping to Canada.
So far the list is:
foxgapfiero
oldBob
Sourmug.....rears only
h.d.fire......fronts only
tw............two sets

oops!

tfwcars.....two sets

BTW I do accept paypal which appears to be the quickest and easiest way to pay. After the sets are made I will notify you and will ship when payment is received as the last two runs I have done.

Good point! Please be sure to let me know if you want 10 degree or 5 degree offset rear brackets. The standard order is 10 degree if otherwise noted.
foxgapfiero....one set
oldBob.........one set w/ 5 degree rears
Sourmug......10 degree rears split with h.d.fire
h.d.fire.........fronts split with Sourmug
twfcars........two sets
dguy...........one set w/ 5 degree rears
kevin23K.....one set

That makes seven sets so far 5 sets with 10 degree offset rears (standard) and 2 sets with 5 degree offset rears.

Was the 5 degree versus 10 degree rear bracket controversy ever resolved? I have been holding back to hear feedback from users of the 5 degree brackets.....

Hey guys, well I'm possibly interested. I am trying to read ALL of the threads before I ask some redundant questions. My question goes to the previous post. What is needed 5 or 10 degree brackets to do the conversion?

I have an 85 GT with 87 GT factory 15" wheels. Will this conversion fit my application, or will I need to look elsewhere?

Like I said, I'm new to this thread. I'm trying to get up to speed fast so I can place an order if need be. If any knowledgeable person on this subject would like to reply or PM me and fill me in, that'd be great!!
Thanks a lot

The 10* brackets need a tiny corner of the pad cut or grinded off to work. The 5* bracket was supposed to resolve this. I too was waiting to hear one way or the other.

As far as I understand this will fit all but the 88 models.

Hope this helps and hope my answers are correct.

You do have the right information about the pad trimming and the fit of all pre-'88 models. I have not gotten ANY responses to my question of the 10 degree / 5 degree issue. I will try to pm the guys who bought the 5 degree versions (one guy I think did both) to find out..........now where did I put those order lists?

rj... Just to clarify, what I'm looking for in this case is one pair of 5 degree rear brackets only. I already have a working set with the original design brackets... just want to lose the hockey sticks and tight e-brake arrangement.

I may go in for an additional full front + rear set (again, 5 degrees on the rear). I'll know for certain and update here or via PM after June 2nd. Thanks for taking the helm once again!

If you only want the rear brackets we might have to find another person that will want only the front brackets as Sourmug and h.d.fire have done. My guy has his machine set up to cut the fronts and rears as pairs....not just fronts and then rears. I would have to hate not selling you what you want, but I also can't afford to lose $ as a wasted set of front brackets. I am doing this to help out my fellow Fiero enthusiasts and am really making no profit by doing this....really just covering my time/effort (I drive over an hour to this guys shop just to save everyone on the cost of him shipping them to me). Lets see what can be worked out...there still is time as I do not have the minimum 10 sets requested yet that my guy requires before he will do a run (saving his time/effort). I hope you understand my position.

Thanks
Bob

It's PAYDAY. I can finally commit. I would like a set with the 10* and a pair of 5* for 6 brackets total. (Please confirm total will be $135)

I would like to pay via paypal.

Thanks for sharing you time to do this.

Marc

Edit:
Ooops, I posted this after you posted your response. If the extra set of rear is a problem let me know. I will just take a set of 10*.

OK, after my extensive and intensive reading the past few days, count me in for a front+rear 5* set.
I sent a PM to rjblaze earlier.
Again, has anyone heard any feedback on the 5* rears? I'd really like to know before Rjblaze hits the 10 pair mark.

If anyone has those bracket files laying around and could email them to me that'd be great.

Oh yeah, email address is:
jurell.baker@lowellinc.com
cc email to: jurell@comcast.net also to assure I get them

Thanks,
Jurell

The 10* are the tried method and 100% work with a grinding off of one of the corners of the brake pad. The 5* brackets are supposed to be able to be used without this modification to the brake pad. I have yet to see if this is true or not.

Here is the technical forum about the upgrade.
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F.../HTML/048271-14.html

Go down to riceburners reply on 02-15-2007 at 8:03pm. He has the software and the files to view each bracket. If you click his link to emachineshop and it doesn't work remove the comma.

I'm a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Machinist, and have Cad/Cam software I can directly import the "DXF" files.
I've tried to use the links on previous posts, but haven't had any luck with them. Figured an email attachment would be the easiest.
Thanks

Jurell I sent a second email with .dfx format files. They will be coming from xcyanidesx@yahoo.com. Just so you don't accidently delete them thinking they are spam. Let me know if this helps.

No problem; I wasn't aware of the machining set up. I'll take a full 5° set then. I should know whether or not I'll be in for a second set after Saturday night.

Drum-roll please........TA! DAH!

We have hit our 10 set order mark. I won't be able to contact my guy until early next week to see when he can start the order ...he said he was a slightly behind the other day but was hoping to catch up. This should give any straglers a chance to place an order so I don't have to keep changing the number every day. If he can take the order by the end of next week, I will let everyone know and give out my paypal address to start sending the payments. Please don't send anything until I verify our order placement date....should know by monday or tuesday.

Thanks
