Is anyone else interested in either of these? I do have the equipment available to form the slight curve in the quarter windows whether they are fastback or notchback, and with a light material, say 20ga or 18 ga the curve wouldn't have to be perfect, and I can laser cut logos in these also. Maybe it's time to start a new thread custom laser cutting and forming.

Very nice. I second that cutout part in the quarter window. Good thinking Cant wait to see what you come up with. I'll check back from time to time.
Couple other ideas since you got me thinking.
Battery re-location trays. Replacement for the headlight surround (plastic piece you see when they are up). 3rd brake light cover. Heat shields for the exhaust. Maybe a firewall plate if you can do bigger pieces. Radiator hold down plate. Jack holder.
I'll stop now. These are just a few things I would do if I had the right equipment. Very interested to see where this thread goes. Later.

As of right now the dash trim plates are going to come in around $40.00 per set. This might be on the high side, but I have to keep myself covered. This will be for all 4 pieces. The 3 piece will come in about $5.00 less give or take. Hopefully I won't have a stainless cost jump.

OK I'm glad babadoo bumped this thread back up cause I had completely forgot about it. I am interested in the interior pieces. I have only 1 request though. Make them so that they only cover the colored portion of the stock plates leaving that little black inset edge exposed in all areas. This is something I really want to do. Leaving that black inset edge exposed will allow the purchaser to paint the stock plates any color they choose and when the stainless plates are installed it will leave a colored edge. Also if the purchaser wanted to powder coat the new plates and paint the stock plates it will make a cool effect.
I think I agree on leaving the black beveled edge from the original pieces visible. Anyon else?

Sorry. Been away from this thread for way too long. Love the work on the interior pieces. They came out really good. I want a set when you get that tach and speedo thing figured out (4 pieces in all). I will need one for the aux gauges which is also a very simple piece. Still patiently waiting on the GT vents, they are going to be great. Everything is looking good so far. Excellant work. Stainless looks so much better then the fake plastic interior pieces.
EDIT: One other idea I thought I toss out there is the vent covers on either end of the dash. Its a pretty simple "L" piece and could look pretty good if you are interested. No one has ever made aftermarket versions of these that I have even seen. I know its a bit tougher but could you make a set of 86-88 GT quarter windows? I don't know of you are set up to do the slight curve or for the size they would have to be but they would be easier then making them out of fiberglass and could be painted black. You could cut out the GT symbol. Just some other ideas. Keep up the great work.
I'd also be interested in the outer vent covers if that came to fruition- would be cool with the rest of the panels. Also, have you thought of doing door sill plates while you're at it? I'd buy those too!

Here is the latest and greatest and what is in the works.
Notchback vents:
I think the only vent I am missing here is the FORMULA. This is programmed and ready to burn. Once again the only thing I am worried about are the mounting holes. I only have access to one locally and he is really bugging me to get them done. I am not sure what year he has, but I will get photos. As you can see by the photos I have posted, the fit looks pretty good. Unless someone sees something I don't, I am going to call them ready for production.
GT vents:
BobadooFunk has the last set I made and he claims they are really close. HOWEVER, I still have not gotten the evaluation and photos I need to proceed. (This might put some pressure on him.) In terms of the honeycomb idea I like it and it would be easy to do. I think any heat worries would end.
Interior pieces:
I am ready to burn the next set, however I am waiting for some 20 ga ss to come in. For prototypes I have been using any and all scraps I can get my hands on so I only have to pay for laser time. There are some 20 ga mild steel orders coming so the next photos you see will be out of 20 ga cold rolled steel. This will be for fit and they really won't look pretty at all.
Badges:
I have done a couple of badges and have observed a certain fiasco on the forum,so I will start playing around with these a little more in the next couple of weeks. I can do a variety of things here. I can do an adhesive type or a stud type. I am also thinking matching key chains.
As for the other goodies, the weather here has really sucked, and I really don't like measuring and sketching in this cold sloppy weather. I will go high gear as soon as mother nature decides to be kind.

Sounds like you've been working hard on everything.
When they are ready you can count me in for a set of stainless interior pieces (4 piece set) and a set of GT vents. I still like the slotted ones myself. Im leaning towards mild for the vents cause the car will be silver and I don't see the point in painting the stainless black for these. There will probably be more but I have to see what you come up with. Keep up the good work. Later Rich
Hurry up with them vents Bobadoo! Hehe, a little more pressure.
One other idea I thought of was a replacement vent for the side intake or in my case airflow for the oilcooler. You could do a slotted or honeycomb that would be a direct replacement for the grate. Here is an example...
Or you could even kick it up a notch with some kind of a scoop. Make them bolt on like the fierostore scoop but better looking.

Man, I like the interior kits. You could expand to include door handle accents (interior) and the after market glove box door. The overhead light switch bezel as well....

As far as the Formula notchie vents, I've been waiting to buy a set; I'll happily be a guinea pig as long as you'll make good if they don't fit. PM me the payment address and the money is on the way.
Here is the first part of the review as soon as I get the measurements I'll run another one I'll take a pat on the back considering that the entire back end of my car is not attached to the frame.

BobadooFunk submitted the following review.
im running out of time on this again... but heres some pics and general comments
this was the first thing i noticed, this noth had to be ground down a bit to fit
both bolt notches are a touch off
how stock sits
opposite
the sides sit a bit high
which also pushes it out a bit to far, hitting the decklid
it wont scratch tooo bad when not bolted to bracket, but when bolted, you cant close decklid
quick synopsis... say it was stamped, if the metal was laying on a table and you moved the metal over .5" (estimate) but left stamp in place most problems would be solved (plus you need to shave the inner corners to allow the vents to move outward a bit.. i will take some more pics with a ruler soon too

I know on the 88 GT's there is an adjustment for the height the grill sits in relation to the decklid. The 84-87 notchbacks also have an adjustment for this. I can't confirm but I would bet that the 86-87GT's also have some sort of adjustment. Did you play with it a bit Bobadoo and see if it helps any with the clearance issues? Here is a pic of the bolts I'm talking about.
The slots could be lengthened a bit for more adjustment, if needed. What do you guys think?

So what is the plan with the interior face plate pieces. Are you going to make them as I suggested so they fit the high part of the stock face plates leaving the inset edges visible? If you need a pic to better explain what i'm talking about LMK
ill have to think of somthing and get back to you on that for them sail windows and i might get a set of them gt vents but idk yet so dont make a set for me cuz i think ima make a custom scoop for my left side engine vent that doesnt excist atm cuz my cold air in take is too long
That would look cool, especially in Polished Stainless. silver 85 sc, can you do a Stainless shifter knob with the Fiero emblem engraved on the top?
That I'll have to draw the line on. If it is bent, rolled, or laser cut I can most likely do it. I have access to a mill and a lathe, but I don't think that we'd be able to pull it off with the equipment we have. Also with all the equipment available to me, I don't have access to any type of engraver.

i think i just got an idea to solve my quarter window problem thanks to this picture i would do it kinda like the stock gt window but use this honeycomb pattern where the clear window is and where that black window is it will say Fiero GT tell me how u think that will look
I'd be down for a set of windows as well as the vents. hows it going on the adjustments for the vents anyway. just wondering when my car will be the next guiniepig.

I did a set and am waiting for pictures to post. The guy that took them is local, and he has yet to get his car out of storage. I wish I would have taken pictures before he took them, but he pulled up at the house at the same time I did on the day I got them done. They are going on an '86.

Hows that going to work? The formula has different mounts cause its an 88 right? I'm not sure myelf.
I was also curious how the interior pieces are coming along also. Can I buy a set from you yet?

I have no idea what is different. The only thing that I am sure about is that the 84 is different than the 85 and 86. Now what happens between the formula, the sport coupe, and coupe I'm not sure. I have only been told that the 88 gt is different than the 86 and 87.I don't know about the notchbacks. If I had all the cars here and lined up, I could tell you exactly what is different between each model year. AND it's getting worse. The interior panels that I cut look really good in my 86 sport coupe, and not good in my 85 sport coupe!!!!! I have not tried my 86 SE. So it appears that there is an interior change somewhere somehow. Who knows it could be between each model too i don't know.
