You don't have to break the Glass. If necessary, you can get a mounting kit from PepBoys or AutoZone that will include a new pad piece for the windshield and glue. I'm not sure of your problem, but don't break your windshield . If necessary, i guess you could glue a new pad onto the old one (?) or under it onto the glass.

i dont remember which car forum i read about these, but i think these ebay ones had a problem of showing a fluid level in the mirror. apparently that fluid is used for the dimming feature.

I also just bought a Gentex mirror off of eBay. It's quite nice, and worth the extra money. Gentex is the same manufacturer who makes most of the OEM auto-dimming mirrors.

There was nothing really special about the mirror in the first post. I would not post this in someone else's thread, when they are selling something, but it has been mentioned that he is no longer updating the thread, or responding to PM's.
Have a look on ebay for "Dimming Mirror" and you will find tons and tons of styles, and far cheaper than $99 in most cases.

You guys are just gonna have to copy and paste the URL's sorry. I used what is deemed the "Proper PFF code" from this page: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/pffcode.html
But it appears not to be working..... Man I REALLY Miss VBullitin forums when on this site!

Sorry guys I do not carry these anymore. I stopped when they were coming back defective at a very high rate. Then the company (Exon) did not want to warranty them anymore. They changed the design back in early 2007 late 2006. The earlier years were great and I still have mine in the car.
If I would suggest a mirror it would be Donnelly or Gentex. They are used by most auto manufactures and have an excellent reputation.

FieroEddie: I bought one last year for my Eclipse, before I totaled it. I know it worked for at least a month before totaling the car hahaha
I forgot to add, if you just want the dimming feature, go to the junkyard and you can pick up a mirror out of a Cadillac, Lincoln Town Car, and countless other cars for like $10. Most of the OEM ones off these cars use proprietary temperature and compass sending units, and can be tough to get it all hooked up correctly.

Okay, I spoke too soon. I got the new mirror install works perfectly but for one tiny problem. After removing the old mirror button, a GIANT PITA by the way, I noticed a tiny chip in the windshield where the old button was. You know where I am going with this don't you. Came out this morning to start my car and now I have a 3" long crack in the windshield radiating from the location of the new button F$@! Be careful, be VERY careful, I though I was. I didn't use force on the old button, just eased the edges until it finally popped off. OUCH!
