Well...it was a tough decision, but I decided to come back from vacation. Figured it was easier than explaining to the accountant why I no longer have an income. So...the thread is officially opened back up.
For those of you that didn't notice that it was closed:
I suspect that what it means is that the car was exported from the States before Carfax had a record of it. I'm pretty sure the car has been here since at least 1993.
Payment made to Cliff.

In fact....there are 2 days left on this....and this will be the last one for a car made by a Japanese or European company. I decided to stop helping people buy foreign.

Thanks for the Carfax. I am buying a used car to pay the American dealership workers that are selling it. Japan made their money when the car was first sold. I couldn't find an used American made car that suited my needs and budget. This car was a very good deal that I couldn't pass up. I needed to get a car for my son for college and this one fills the requirements I had. Thanks again. http://sport-mazda-subaru.e...azda3-s-4269044.html

I admit that buying a used Japanese car doesn't hurt our economy as bad as buying a new one...but you are still contributing. By choosing to purchase a used Japanese car, you are helping to increase the resale value, which in turn helps the original purchaser to decide to throw his money overseas again. If the previous owner was unable to sell his used Japanese car, do you think he would purchase another one? I admit, YOU deciding to buy a used American car instead of Japanese will not make a measurable difference in our economy....but when you, me, John Doe, Harry Smith, and every other American out there decide that we want to collectively improve our way of life....as a whole, it can be done.
I had no intention of turning this into a debate on buying American or foreign. However...I consciously attempt to buy American where possible. Skipping the economical benefits of that, I generally find myself to be happier when I do that, because in general an American made product is a better quality product (again, I am not looking for a debate on this....you are as likely to change my mind about religion as you are this). I do my part to help the American economy...if everyone else did the same, I believe we would find ourselves in much less of a recession. For that reason, I refuse to listen to any owner of a foreign car complain about the economy. A car is a single part of the equation...it just gets the most attention because it is a big ticket item.
So....off the soapbox and back to our regularly scheduled broadcast. I get out of work shortly, I will get the rest of these carfaxes when I get home.

After doing a recall check on the web I noticed a couple of things that bugged me.
Airbag and brakes I think.
But I am just wondering about what else it had. There is some body damage to the front end, minor but this is a unibody so any damage could be bad. Also it doesn’t look like the airbags ever deployed, lights all work and no telltale signs of bag deployment.
Anyway here is the vin 1B4P44L1YB718076
If anyone can run it for me it would be greatly appreciated.
This is the loser cruiser I just picked up and before I do to much work would just like to know a little more.
Thanks
Steve
