I've sold a few things through PFF and something I've observed over the last year or so - approximately 70% of the PFF folks who say they want something back out, often without even letting me know that they no longer want the part. Some do - they'll let me know that they found the part cheaper or whatever and that's cool, but the ones who just clam up, well, I wish they had just never made the offer in the first place.
But there are more important things in life, right?

Bought a so called working headlight motor from v8fiero355 turned out to be total toast see his ad below and his reponse is that he never promised that it worked and that he just assumed that it did because the headlights werent stuck in the up position when he bought the car???? how does that translate to "worked when I removed it"? waiting to hear back if hes going to refund my money.
:
Passenger's side headlight motor $25 shipped (by v8fiero355, 02-20-2005)
25 bucks shipped, or best offer. In good condition and worked when I removed it. I also have the driver's side in good condition, as well, but I havent' removed it from the car yet, it may take a couple weeks for that one, but this on is ready to ship! Thanks for looking!

ain't it the truth. We should have an offshoot of this list called PFF's RENIGGERS and instead of good/bad it will just be a list of reniggers. but it would probably hit the trash can so bad though.

what do you think exspook? you down for it? what do you think pff seller's? post up should we start a list like this? i have some idea's about it if u guys do.

sticky of this would be a grand idea. it would have to be moderated i am sure to keep post off the subject out like this one

ok here we go

BAD BUYER: Soloyosh/renigged
BAD BUYER: yons/not only did he renig, he acted like he sent the mo. the perverbial check in the mail.

I would say that about half of the poeple that say they are going to send money never do. A few of them will at least tell you that they are backing out, most just lay low for a while. BUT, I would say almost all of the people that say they will send a paypal come through. I guess it is because they do it right away and don't have to make a special trip to get a MO.

I did learn long ago not to box up anything untill you have money in hand. I still have a few things still boxed and addressed from over a year ago.

I have said it many times before. We REALLY NEED an ebay style rating system for the mall. The rating bar is a horrible guage for the mall.

For the size of the forum and the number of transactions initiated I would have to say I feel safe dealing with 95% of the folks on this forum. From a sellers standpoint it may seem like their are a lot of "shoppers" who want but don't come through, but once an agreement is reached things usually proceed smoothly (barring outside circumstances).
Bad buyers and sellers are usually called out, this is a good practice, things are usually resolved and if not forum members are aware.
It would be nice to have a running thread or ratings system solely for the purpose of rating buyers/sellers without it turning into a thread dominated by two or more members trying to hash out one particular problem. But that said, you can usually do a search on a particular member that your dealing with and get a general idea of their track record.
I'm proud to be listed in this thread as well as the archived thread as a "good" seller, but I expect no more from myself than I would from the person on the other end. "Good seller/buyer" should be a given on this forum, which it is for the most part, and those that can't deal with others in a positive way should be kicked to the curb.
I've spouted enough B.S. for now, must go retreive another beverage.

I agree without it you get things like happened to me,a part being listed as "worked when I removed it" only to get "I never told you directly that it worked,I never even drove the car and just assumed the headlight motors worked"
its an unfortuate fact of life that some slime balls will scam people if theres an opportunity, while a buyer seller rating system doesnt 100% produce honesty it does help, without it its buyer and seller beware.

Just so everyone knows v8fiero355 has not responded to my requset to refund my money,to advertise a headlight motor as "good cond worked when I removed it" only to sell junk and then say "I never promised you that it worked I never even tested it I just assumed that it worked" is crap and people that do such slime ball things should not be allowed to sell items on the forum.

So I just got a reply from v8fiero355 and says he wont refund my money because I took his non working 40% of the drive teeth missing motor apart so now its worthless to him,he also states "I had no way of knowing if it worked or not so was sold as is".thats very odd because his ad below clearly states "in good condition and worked when I removed it" ? this isnt about money its principal, the ad was a lie.Buyers beware!!!

then I get this

I had never even driven that car, and I only assumed that it worked because the headlights weren't stuck in the up position when I bought the car. The only thing wrong with the car when I bought it was the battery was dead from it sitting on the lot for a while (one of those title loan places repossessed it) and it had been driven up to that point. I'm sure that the owner didn't get out and manually raise the lights everytime it got dark. I probably quit working from not working in so long.

Maybe he wanted it back so he could sell it again...

What year car do you need the motor for? Maybe I can help you out.

I guess i'll throw in my share of good/bad.

My first PFF deal was BAD, it cost me a lot of money & stress. Inorder to not start a flamewar i'm not going to mention the person(if you want to know go searching). It was my first Fiero. So that was a bad deal....i'll leave it at that.

Then I think that was the only bad one, besides a few people saying they were going to buy stuff then never even send the $$$ or just plain out forgot. But that's not bad.

I've had MANY MANY good experiences here on PFF buying & selling. In NO particular order...

Tesmith66(Tim) sold me a Fiero and i've dealt with him too. Great guy!
Wudman(John) sold me my 2nd Fiero(current daily driver) and it was been the BEST, I mean the BEST deal i've had. He basically sold it to me for nothing in the awesome condition it was in, a very generous offer.
$$Rich$$ sold a couple things too, awesome guy!
Fiero Rumor........ I've done a few(2?) transactions with him, great guy too
Capt Fiero, sold something to him & he was quick at payment.
Wbailey, great to deal with too
There is SO MANY MORE people i've dealt with through Ebay & more! but didn't know their PFF names or I just forgot(im tired). Overall, besides that VERY VERY bad first deal, i've had way more deals of buying or selling from people here on PFF and plan to keep on doing so in the future!

Uh... YEAH, that's how it works, MEL H. JOHNSON. Don't know what else you would expect? We don't want to offend or discourage the folks who can't follow through on deals?
I've had good experiences with all te vendors who sponsor PFF (okay, Rodney, V8 Archie and Fierostore) and Doug at Fierowarehouse.com has been terrific. there was a TJKnight I think it was an eBay username but he posts here... super nice guy good to do business. BVMotorsports; well, Steve is as about as generous as you can get. EXSpook? Yes, I won some stuff off eBay from him, Orief, Spyhunter, I'm trying to remember who I got the dash glovebox from and the lowering springs... Paul McKibben, some guy who goes by Tom5house on eBay as well as northstar87, custom$pete, dalelee22, edtrofeo, perrypam, jerryglasstoys, v8fiero. Those eBayers stand out in my mind. If you see yourself and you post here, let me know so I can edit the info.

I've filed mail fraud charges against v8fiero355,I'm sure its been put on the bottom of the pile due to the low dollar value but I take some comfort in knowing he will get what he deserves in the end. Thanks to him being so arrogant about the whole thing I had enough evidence in his emails to file the charges.

Aint it the truth. I just had 1 member back out on a deal with me. He's done this twice now! Another member warned me about this individual. I thought I would give him a chance because he never did anything wrong to me. Well no more. He'll need to go else where for parts now.

Then I had another member try to burn me twice. Luckily the first time someone wanted the parts so bad they offered me more $$ for the parts then they where worth! Then the last time I pulled one of their tricks on them. I hate to do biz that way but they deserved it!

Good buying experiences:
Electrathon
The Fiero Store
Rodney Dickman

Still undecided:
West coast fiero (sub box)

Had to wait 2 months for it to ship, and it wasn't a perfect fit, not to mention the hole that was cut for the power windows wasn't cut in the right spot, not my driver's side power window switch rubs up against it. One of the guys who answered the phone was kind of an @$$, but the lady there acted like she cared and she made things go alot smoother. Also to mention, apparently their upholsterer went MIA when i ordered, and the box had to be custom due to the sub i chose, so I can see why it took 2 months, I don't have any hard feelings toward them.

Oh, and ctfiero87, it's good to know i'm in your good graces, apparently you worked the quirks out of the computer?

What a Piece of Crap this guy is. Ripped me off for $141.00
Tells people BULL$hit and gets them to send him more money.
I guess he sells one and then rips off the rest.
Anyone live near him in Pa?? He needs his A$$ kicked big time.
Don't deal with him people, if he ever shows his face around here again
which I doubt he will.

Only 1 bad experience:
Smoothwhitese

Sold me a blown 3.4 tdc missing all the accesories he promised me. $400 +200 shipping from Florida to Michigan. Seemed like too good of a deal so I planned on pulling it apart to replace the bearings to find a bad crank, rod and a cylinder that was so pitted from water being in it that it would have to bored out. Asked him to paypal me back a couple hundred bucks to cover the price of salvage accesories and a REBUILDABLE engine but wouldnt respond. Now he magically appears back on the forum and still claims he didnt do anything wrong. I could have drove 2.5 hours to get a rebuilable engine with accesories for $150.
BTW: paypal wouldnt help. They only posted a note on his account.

Everyone else I've delt with have been great ie, will, fiero sts, madess, rockcrawl, and several others..Thanks..

I have had some great buying experience and help in this forum (Archie, $Rich$, Darrell Morse, Kohburn and many others), but the bad one was so bad that I have been scarred forever.

My opinion is to stay away from Cory Reynolds (GT40Cory). See https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/051535.html to find out how dishonest this guy is. I have not received an email from this guy since July. None of the extra parts were sent and he really misled me on the sale of this Fino. The description of the car was totally different from the actual condition. He said that his business was building GT40 kits on Fieros, but I don't see how he can anymore. The Fino donor car was so bad that I just went out today and bought another donor car to move the body kit over to. Buyers beware!

I also have to throw a negative to LowFieroGT after re-reading his replies on the Chesapeake Fiero Club forum. Watch your back if you ever complain about his attitude. He proves it pretty well at http://chesapeakefiero.8.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=130&start=0 - He has a lot of stuff for sale, but I wouldn't send a payment to him unless I received the merchandise first.

Thanks to all who offer great advice! You Fiero-gurus are incredible!

I've been a member here since 2000, bought and sold more parts then I can remember, only one bad experience:

BAD: Shueglue737

We were supposed to do a swap for some parts. I sent mine, never recieved anything from him. He told me he had sent them and he would be sending me the tracking numbers. Never recieved anymore from him, he stopped replying and stopped posting for a while. I've seen him post a couple times since but he still doesn't respond when I question him. Aprox. value was probably around $200.

All Good:

Rodney Dickman ("there's only one Rodney Dickman").
Rob Barth (traded Fiero part for coins from Royal Mint and Marmite).
Oreif (Seal Belt Pads for myself and Trampboy).
French guy Christophe (can't remember PFF username).

There are a number of other people whom I have never traded with but would do so without a moments hesitation as I know they are people of their word.

Cheers
PK

Based on ethics, I would not purchase from Mccanda... See this thread > https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/063796.html

He has been emailing people from the forum that I answer questions for that I am the one unethicial and not a person to do business with. I am tried of getting these email responses from people because of his inaccurate reporting of the facts to the transaction he and I had.

FastFieros is Loyde Rascoe... Loyde Rascoe is just a person in this world that trys to survive in the Fiero community with excellent support and products. If at any time you feel one of my products or services is bad, please call. I go out of my way to help someone.

Thanks,

Loyde

ive had good dealings with convertable indy (had a problem with what was shipped, but is fixing it, and was very appoligetic (boy i cant spell) and was quick with replys)

had bad dealings 2-3 times with Yons, always says yeah ill take it, checks in the mail...... nothing show's up, However his wife (bluegin i think is her name on here) asked me for a part, told her a price, 2 days later a money order arrived. Guess we know who is the better person in that relationship.

Wheels1 on here screwed me and MRJ outta over $1500 worth of fiero parts, and we still havent heard anything from him and he wont answer his phone, or return the messages we leave with his girlfriend.

so ill throw him in the bad service providers pile.

I tried, you hung up on me, told me not to call you / e-mail you, and stated that myself and 3 others ( 4 total ) were to no longer recive 38oo support.

Does that mean that I can get this crap straightned out yet?

What about the 3 others that you stated are not to contact you either - can they get their issues resolved as well?

There's the 1oo.oo question of the day.

Aside from being told not to contact you, I thought that I'd try one last E-mail that has been sent out. From here on out its your decision to go forth.

I don't really want to mediate between Loyde and Allen but I've dealt with both of you two and am quite suprised of the animosities.

Allen- You have provided excellent information to my questions and that does not go unappreciated. I thank you for all the technical questions that you've answered. You have always answered them extremely courteous. I do have a question, is this a hobby for you or do you run a business? (If you could PM me a website, I would be much obliged. From what I've dealt with you, you've been very proffesional)

Loyde- I have nothing but positive things to say about you. The reprom and turnaround on my ECM was lightning quick and it worked on the first time. You would always answer your phone or return a call in a super fast manner. I will continue to do business with you.

One thing thats been noted to me is that I should have not payed for the schematics that I purchased through Loyde when rock-crawl makes them readily available. I knew rock crawl had them available, the reason I payed for the schematics through Loyde was the appreciation of his services. When you purchase something through Loyde, you're not just purchasing a product, you're buying into his service. Loyde runs a business of 3800 swaps. At what point is it profitable for him answer the dozens of phonecalls he recieves each day? I used to manage a computer company. We would have people come in and buy a mouse for $10 then call us up to a year later"I bought a mouse through you guys a while ago. My question is my computer crashed today and I need help" After dealign with several calls like this over the period of a few days I realized I was shooting myself in the foot. I would simply say "Bring it in and for $60 well take a look at it." As far as running the business my only concern should have been and was is if that mouse was working. I wasn't running UNICEF and as such, shouldn't be handing out free expertise and knowledge. I'm still amazed of the support Loyde offers. I'm certainly not on the high side of what people of spent on Loyde (around $350) But I will say it has been worth ever cent that I have given him.

I would rate Loyde- A+
I would rate Allen- A+

I just bought a dead Fiero from Kohburn. I'll be moving all the good parts over - starting with the V8.
I won't be needing the brake cables now, but that was a good price, so thanks. Still have the T-tops for sale?

You can have the cables for 75.

Oh ya I will keep the T-tops, because I will never sell them to you.

RT, I appreciate your support.

I know that there are those that Loyde has helped in the past, as he's been at the Fiero game for some time. This was the draw that I had when I first thought about the 38oo SC into a Fiero. Heck, I think that his site was one of the top 5 that I frequented looking at the options that one had.

At this time, I don’t feel that IMO due to my own personal experiences, he's where people should be going to get the "support" they expect going into this type of environment. There are those that he has helped, and like me and others, there are those that he has screwed.
I’m glad to see that you are not the latter of the two.

I also feel you hit the nail on the head with the reference to the mouse - very typical from what I have heard from others in the IT world. In this situation there are some very similar points, but at the same time they are also enough differences that make this different enough that I can say that he is still not going to gain my respect or recommendation when I am approached and asked about his professional practices. Yes there is a line where you have to consider profitability and customer service, I fell on the wrong side of the service I suppose.

And for me, the Fiero is a hobby. I wish that I had the time / need for a site, but at this time there is really no need. If I do happen to get the gumption to get one out there, I will E-mail ya first.

So, I gave you a chance for a sale. You proved once again that everything I mentioned is exactly right.

Obviously, the best way to keep from having a bad rating on eBay is to try to sell a car nobody will buy. Once someone does buy your homemade Fierostein, your eBay rating will be shot. So, how long did it run after I test-drove it? How are those home-made mounts? How many have you put on that car so far that haven't broken? That's what I thought... You are your own worst advertisement.
