If you show your car, and leave the rear decklid open, you have a couple of choices to keep the rear compartment trunklight from running down your battery:
1) insert a golf tee, tire valve cap or other item into the switch on the trunk solenoid.
2) Remove the bulb.
3) Disconnect the plug on the back of the light module.
4) Or?
Now you have another choice: replace your existing light with a factory look replacement that has a switch built in! Just switch the light to off when you leave the trunk open!
Note: This picture is from my T-Top car, hence the "hold down" strap below the light module)

Here is what you get:
Brand new factory light module with bulb
Short wiring harness to make the electrical connection simple without any cutting or splicing.
Template to slightly enlarge your existing cut out for this conversion. Simply use a Dremel to enlarge the opening using the template.

Price is $39.00 including shipping to US.
(Note: This is not my original idea, but I have never seen anyone put a "kit" together for a easy installation!)
