I am in the process of having some exact GT quarter windows made, with all the curves and graphics as the original windows. I would like to know how much interest everyone would have in buying a set before I invest all of my hard earned money in them. They will be heat formed, and the graphics screen printed on them just as the original windows had. The price should be around $200 + shipping per set. And since I will be having these made, I would also be able to custom make them, if anyone wanted a different tint, or a different logo where the GT emblem is.

I would say, that if you do infact get the front rolled edge as well as the so far not duplicated overall front to back and top to bottum curve that the OEM windows had. I believe you will have a winer on your hands. I have left cracked OEM windows in my GT's because the aftermarket windows are in my opinion more hideous (no offense to others who like them, just my opinion) I would buy at least two sets at that price if they were "balls on" curvature and dot matrix wise.
I agree. From what I've seen, the other reproduction windows available aren't too great. If you can do better, you should make enough money for it to be worth it. The overall curvature is very important, also I believe there's a little cutout on the lower corner of the front edge to give extra clearance for the door skin. What will these be made from, and how does that material handle UV rays and a ton of engine bay heat?

I have looked into making these myself, but the pricing that I came up with was a fair bit more than what you have gotten. I ended up with a price of about CAN$400 for a pair plus an additional CAN$3500 (approx) for the molds. These would have been an exact copy - all curves and edges (no square edges) made to match as well as the screening. Plus I would need some sort of a spare set that can be sacrificed to make the molds (although they did say a broken panel would work as long as all the parts where there).
So for US$200-300 I am in...
You may also want to post this in the 'General forum' as I am sure a fair number of people will miss it here (I know I only look in the 4 sale sections once in a while and have missed out on a few things).

Heck, I might buy a pair and I don't even have a fastback. Like the GT tail light lenses at the Fiero Store, it's a part that has never been available in a truly high quality repro.

Good, that is the response I was hopping for. I have already made an agreement with a company here that does vacuum forming and with a print shop to do the graphics. The only way I can do this and make them affordable, is I have to make 100 of them (50 sets) and that will cost a good deal to do. I will go ahead and order the plastic sometime this week and get this venture started. I expect it will be around 1 month before I have them ready to sell. I expect some to be scrapped in the process, before everyone gets them perfect. I will let everyone know when they are ready.
I'd be VERY interested in a set also if you were to get all the curves like the OEM. Shoot - if you did get all the curves in there, I'd buy a set. I've been holding out for some time on the ones that I have as the quaility of the ones that are currently available are very good, but not "quite" like the OEM.
Make 'em and I know that I'd pony up for sure. Shoot - Im sure that alot of people would to be honest.
If they are in around the $200 mark for a pair then I'm sure you will have no problems selling them assuming that the fit and finish are as close to OEM as possible. I know that I'm interested. A plus for you for bringing this to the community.

Im definitely in for a set if they are as exact to OEM as you say they are. If i got a set though, they would have to be tinted 20% because i 20% tint all the way around on mine and right now im running the fiero warehouse ones and they look great but its just the small things like the edges are sharp and the curvature is not correct. So definitely count me in too.

What is the time frame for the buyer? I need to replace mine but if I had to buy them real soon I wouldn't be able too.
I have made arangements to make 100 windows (50 sets) and depending on how well they sell, I can/will order another 50 sets. Hopefully if these turn out the way I think they will, I want to have them as long as there is Fiero's. Lori

Will there be any additional charge for custom graphics? Any restrictions on what you can do?
Raydar, I can have anything you want put on them, if you can send me what you want on them, the correct size and color so they can scan it into their computer it wouldn't be much more. If they have to draw it, I would have to pay for their time to do it. Lori

I am having a little problem locating the light green tint that the factory windows had, the one I ordered was a darker green, although I am still looking for some. Would anyone have a problem with the light black tint?

Also, you may want to contact www.Fierostore.com when you have a finished product. I was talking with them while they tried to get lexmar to make some more OEM's. It fell through, but I would bet Fierostore would want to buy sets from you to sell on their site, especially if they are REALLY dead on to OEM window quality. Fierostore demads could bump up production numbers of sets BIG time for you...

Put me in for a set.
I think the light black tint would look better than the factory green tint, go for it.

If it came down to getting one that was correct in all corners to not getting one, not really. But I'd prefer to see the green-ish tint if at all possible.

The 90 prototype dash got to expensive to make, we had to use the dash cluster from a 92-93 T/A and they were not cheap to buy, and then we had to modify them to fit in the area between the A/C and the radio surround, by the time we got some made, we would have to charge over $400 for them, and not enough people wanted to pay that price, and we could not make them and lose money on them. At this time we have no plans to make any more, sorry
