I think everyone here is way past tired of waiting. We are all behind you, but there has to be something (threat of a lawsuit?) you can do to get things rolling. Maybe send them a box of Exlax as a hint? Its getting really hard to defend why this is taking so long. Sorry to be so blunt, but I think all these folks deserve to get what they have been expecting - and soon.

Worthless banter? Some of us have paid for these windows months ago, so that gives us a vested interest in the project. Worthless banter comes from those who have no money on the table. It's now business, not a pet project.

I had thought she had said not to send in any money?

Going back to Thanksgiving, the following quote from Lori indicated a green light on this project. I asked if I should pay her now and she said I could... so I did. I'm not asking for a refund, but am certainly growing impatient. This project is approaching a year and a half now. I agree with Tom when he says it's about time to deliver something.
"I was brought a set of windows today to inspect, the tint was perfect to the factory windows, and the graphics were perfect, it needed a little trimming, I will be taking one of my cars to the molding shop this week and leaving it,and the few they have made will be trimmed to fit the car, once they have a perfect fit, they will adjust the routing fixture to trim them all the same Once that is done, they will start on a 50 set order. everything else is ready. I also explained that I needed these for people for Christmas, and was assured they would be ready."

You have no grounds to stand on for your impatience. This is Lori's side project to help all Fiero Owners of GT's, not just you. You have to be patient...you have no choice or say otherwise. RELAX...this isn't on YOUR timetable...its on Lori's. You're $250.00 will be well spent, but on her time...not yours. Just be happy and nice and patient and Fiero cool and relax.
I'm patient and my 87 Blue GT window just broke in half finally after cracking last year. But I remain patient knowing Miss Lori and her perfectionist ways will bring us the best product ever. You paid during the R&D stage...setbacks must be expected...delays will be tolerated...and you will wait like everyone else. Yes it was worthless banter, but I love to hear you. It makes me laugh.

I payed also, with custom logo that lori quoted me for and found out it would cost more, she ate the cost of it because of her perfectionist ways. And the delay... yes it has been awhile, but would you rather have A+++ quality later or D- Quality now? yes, showtime is here and yes many of us paid in Nov/Dec because production was supposed to start, otherwise lori would not have had us pay. I offered to pay in April 06' for a set of blue tinted ones after the first run I saw at the Fiero Factory Swap meet and lori told me no, to wait until she was ready to ship. Lori Really did think the print shop was ready to produce these, thats why she collected the $$$. and then the print shop screwed her over with bad cuts, yes an update is in order but only if she has something to give us. I have met Lori in person at the swap meet, im sure she is doing all she can do to get the process moving(well, besides a kick in the groin! lol) btw if spelling or anything is screwed up, blame that on me being totally drunk
On the outside looking in, but this thread was started on January 29th, 2006. I think that everyone who had a general interest in the project has a right to be a little upset since it has now been over 14 months. On the other side of the token tho, at least the project is hopefully still moving forward in preparation for a near perfect replica that everyone can be proud of, once received. (I know I wouldn't want to hold my customers on a string for 14months tho, ...) At least a weekly update would help quantify the waiting period.

Just wondering if we have a price and if they ready to be installed? I have been following this thread from time to time and wanted to know if anyone has recived them and installed them?
Thanks Joe

I have to chime in, Lori, what have you learned here? Could you say, never announce a product until it's ready to come to market? At least not on this web site! I saw this thread about the time I needed panels and a little light went off saying get something now otherwise you'll be waiting a while. Are mine as good as your's will be? No! Do I care? Not really. If I need some when your product becomes available I will probably spend the extra because I am sure they will be worth it. Good luck to you and I'm glad you've got thick skin!

Okay. I've got to jump in here. I have one of the 1st sets that were produced, out of the 1st batch, a year ago. They are not perfect, but they are better than anything that is on the market today.
I also saw some of the rejects from the first batch. Lori was absolutely *livid*. She was quite adamant that there was no way in hell that she was going to ship anything like that. She parted company with her first fabricator over this. (There's more to the story than that, but that's the Reader's Digest version.)
Regarding the new fabricator, she also told me that since she is a "small" customer, she keeps getting pushed aside to accommodate the larger customers. Seems that NASA (remember, this is Huntsville) has more clout than she does. Seems like they buy a lot of plastic stuff. Go figure.
Be patient, guys. It'll be worth it.

just a thought. if the only thing holding these up is a routing fixture, I and possibly others may would be willing to buy a set that has not been routed and simply do it ourselves. I mean if they are molded, and screened I would be totally willing to do the routing myself on my own set. I shaped a set once years ago that someone else molded and did not finish. It didn't even take me very long to do it by hand and they fit perfectly when I was done.
Just a thought. Might help you get some cash flow moving.

So does Boeing and Toyota, 3 very difficult company's to compete against. I have been keeping quite lately because there was nothing new to say. I told the molding shop back around Christmas when I rejected the windows they had made to not make anymore windows until they had the routing fixtures made that they quoted me in the price and billed me for. They were trying to trim them by hand at that time because the engineers were on vacation and they wanted to get some done. Unfortunately they could not trim them by hand and be consistent, and that was not acceptable. The routing fixtures turned into a major project because of the different cures and the edges needed to be routed at different angles. I do feel that they were somewhat upset over it, but they did agree with me. And as a business person I also understood they also had acquired some major contracts since they accepted mine. They could have just bought me off, but they didn't, they did stick with it and spent a lot of hours making routing fixtures that would satisfy the Fiero community, mainly me. I had also told them to not show me another window until they were right. Well the first thing this morning, my molding shop showed up with a set of windows, not complete since there were no graphics on them, but molded and routed. The first thing I did was walk outside and found a GT without any windows, and put these windows up to it, and guess what? THEY FIT PERFECT ! I gave him the OK to start production again, so now it will go to the print shop, and I haven't had any problems from them so far, and hopefully won't have any now. I want everyone to understand my position here also. I took out a loan to produce these, and my loan was due in full last December, which I failed to meet, and for every month I had to get an extension, it cost me more for every month. I am not the type of person that would send my customers a second rate product just to save myself. I am sorry this has dragged out for so long, but it wasn't me producing these windows, I also have to depend on someone else. The long wait should be just about over, I will send the first windows to those that have paid, although when I saw there was going to be problems, I quit taking orders, so there are not that many I have to make up for.

actually Fed-Ex has hit me with fees like that as well. Both UPS and Fed-Ex will quote you a price online minus this fee and then hit you with it later. often double or more what you paid for shipping in the first place. The USPS is the only shipper i have found that will not get you with extra rip off fees when shipping to Canada.

Thank you hope she's gonna take that as a consideration .
You have to be real careful with both. Went to the same location two different days a week apart, two different prices. I think they watch the gas prices and soak you accordingly.

Yeah. My panels were fine until the car went in for a paint job. They broke one when trying to take them out. If these were available at the swap meeting the timing couldn't have been better.

I will buy 2 sets if they are exact with the dots instead of shading. My driver side is split most of the way up and my dads in New Zealand have tiny little cracks all over.

Is there an established price on these per set provided they will finally be a go for production? Looking forward to pics with a final review. Thank you!
