Anyone that wants these windows can have them for $150 a set, plus the tape kit, $20 plus shipping, $18. These are actually pretty nice windows, but they are blems and will require a little work to make them look great. I have already ordered new sets for the people that ordered these two sets. I paid $80 a set for the custom logos .I only have these two sets so it is first come first serve on these two sets. Lori

OK can someone tell me the difference between these and Doug McKinney's at the Fiero Warehouse? They have the dot matrix, they have the curved front edge and even come tinted. I'm getting ready for a set and not sure I see that there is going to be a difference.

From what I gather....The curved front edge is not the difference. The back part of the window (clear part) had a slight curve to it on the factory windows. Dougs are kind of flat. The ones lori are making are supposed to have the curve on the back part too.

Why can't we make this a "sticky" so that we don't have to continuously bump it to the top? That way we can patiently wait for Ms Lori to do her thing. If anyone actually thinks that she WON'T let us know when there's a developement, I'd be amazed. Who the heck would invest the amount of time and money that she has and not follow through when there's any news to be shared? I'm just afraid that if we pester her any more that she'll get tired of it and pursue other interests. That would be a huge loss, not just for these windows but for all of her other contributions to the Fiero community as well.

Um.... you'll most likely get the ones from Doug?

I know everyone wants an update. At this time I am not going to do a daily update, as I would just be repeating myself over and over, although I will tell you that a lot of progress has been made lately. Everyone involved is being very meticulous, they know what I expect, and they also know what happens when I don't get it. This project has been more difficult than anyone expected from the beginning, and if they knew then what they know now, it never would have got started, but no one is quitting at this point, for most it has become a challenge, and/or an obsession, but they also have other business that has to be taken care of. When I get these windows in my hands and am happy with them, everyone will probably be able to hear my scream of joy without the aid of any electronic device, so be prepared, it could happen at any time. And yes Monkey, there is some distortion in the corner of the LT1 window, although the rest of the dot matrix is fine, but in the picture it looks like there may be some, there isn't. That issue was resolved months ago.

Fantastic Lori, Thank you for the update. I will, as I hope the rest of us will, do our best to keep quiet and be patient until you give the victory shout.

Didn't you read MsLori's post above? Here, I'll paraphrase her last post date 06/03/07 for you...

I don't understand why you constantly and repeatedly ask for a status on these. Everyone is waiting for Lori to complete these. You're not the only one. Give her some room to breathe, let her finish these sail panels to her high standards and everyone will be happy with the final product. In my opinion you go a little over-board asking for updates and when you get no answer threatening to find a different option for your sail panels.
Give her a rest. She has shown with pictures and at Ed's that these are real, she even sold the blems, which from every account I've read are still very nice. She's made great progress and when she has information, goor or bad, it's generally posted.
End of Rant.

No need to rant. I don't know how my two-fingered typing came out, but it was not my intention to threaten or anything else for that matter. I guess I took her post literally when she said she would not make day to day updates. I was simply asking at the end of the week what progress may have been made. Nothing more, nothing less. I am actually interested in the posts MsLori has about issues with the screen printers, etc
My apologies, MsLori, if you took me the way IwannaIRM did. It was not intended.

I know I said (in April after the swap meet) I 'd be quiet until these things were ready, but ...... I've got to say that almost 32,000 views say that at least a weekly update is not too much for these folks to expect. That would simply be a common courtesy to the at least hundreds of folks on the forum who are following this thread. Sorry, Lori, but I really don't care how busy you are, I think your failure to do this is plain rude. Everyone is primed and waiting for these windows and they are trying to stand behind you, but come on -- throw them a bone at least once a week! They aren't really asking for much. We all support your efforts and believe in what you're doing , but just a kind once a week "no news yet" or whatever would be a courtesy that would be greatly appreciated by all I'm sure.

Thats just un-called for. Have you ever done any kind of production of a product? Lori is doing this because she wants to. She has kept everyone updated on the current developments. She is helping out the fiero comunity and it takes time to get things right. Posting messages like this is what causes good people to leave the PFF community. Patience is the key if you want a good product. Try having a little. Some tact would be nice also.
Keep up the good work Lori and just ignore ignorant posts like this one. The rest of us are behind you 100%.

I say Tom Corey's comment was not un-called for. It was well written , courteous as well as a simple explanation given to the intent. It was not venomous, derogatory or degrading. I give him an "A" for tact also. I'm sorry but he does not seem like an ignorant person to me.
Doing things for the Fiero community is always a good thing but even Rodney Dickman I'm sure does it for a profit and not out of the goodness of his heart. A weekly update is not much too ask to pacify some of the people out here. There are other options out there and some people may not want to wait much longer. I have a rebody on a GT just about done and the last thing I want to do is drive my baby around without sail panels in public. Sort of like going around with odd socks on.
There have been other people on here who have offered unique Fiero products before and not delivered and unfortunately it leaves some of us with an uneasy feeling that another party is out there with the same intent. There is a party at the moment who appears to have done just that with Fiero badges both on this forum and Ebay. Now before you start flaming me for saying bad things about Lori just re-read what I just said. I said nothing about her period and I am not comparing her to others who have done this. I am making a comment about the effects of one bad apple spoiling the rest and that is how some people may feel about a long-term project when it drags on like this. People sometimes have a tendancy to lose faith and they may be impatient when there are alternatives.
If I told my clients to sit tight and be patient for their new auto or homeowner's insurance policy to be written and that it has gone to underwriting but it may be a week or a month before it is available and I can insure them they would most likely be impatient and concerned enough to go elswhere. Granted the sails are not insurance but the principal is the same.
I see nothing wrong with a weekly update. How much trouble could it be?

I don't feel that it's really a matter of "how much trouble" the update itself would be. I'll admit that I haven't read through all 17 pages of this thread, so I apologize in advance if I've missed a crucial point. Given the problems that she's had with getting a quality product, perhaps the real desire is to stop getting people's hopes up only to have to let them down when a sub-standard product is delivered. Flaws show up in the best of designs and despite the best of efforts. If people are repeatedly told "they're coming!" and then a week later told "there was a problem", I think that they're going to be far more upset than just waiting for the exciting news that she has stock and they meet her standards of quality.
Further, I don't believe that it's just a simple update that she'd have to do at that point. Every posting of hers has the potential to generate questions or discussions that raise more questions. Some of the people asking may get angry if she doesn't reply to their questions right away. It can go on and on; I've seen it before, and sometimes it gets ugly for no good reason.
I haven't done business with MsLori , but I get the impression that she is a very reputable businessperson. If I were dealing with a person of questionable intent, then yes, I would want regular (frequent) updates. In this case, however, I *personally* feel that it serves no actual purpose other than to temporarily satisfy someone's impatience. YMMV.

Honestly, I'm not going to get into this discussion with anyone. Lori will come through or refund your money, that I'm sure of.
Lori - I have two brand new sets of GM originals sitting in boxes, unopened in my closet. If you need to use one as a reference to help I would be happy to help. I will even break the seal to help with this project. Just send me a PM. If not I will be patiently waiting for to see your final product.
Tom Corey- I apoligize if I sounded like I was attacking you earlier. That was not my intention. I don't know you and it was wrong of me to call you ignorant. My sincere appoligies. Its just that I have seem so many good people scared away from this forum becaues of the the way people talk about them. Not the mention the people that will not make a product for the fiero community because of reading threads like this one. People with some real talent and ability will never give it a try for fear of being attacked.
Good day all!
EDIT: To add that I DO NOT want to recieve anymore angry or upset PM's from people about this subject. I stated my opinion and thats all it is, My opinion. thanks

It's not that easy to move on when they are already payed for. The same could be said for Lori I suppose, maybe it's time to call a spade a spade. I think Tom's comments were completely justified.

Geeze. Gosh guys, Santa Clause is not gonna come unless you go to bed. Wait, I just got a weekly update. "Nothing yet". Does that make you happy? I have an idea. Why don't we all explain our daily boring routine. Just so you know, I, and others, have also been waiting. A watched pot does not boil. Oh, I just got last weeks update. Nothing happened, noteworthy. Progress progressing. Are you happy now. C'mon Lori, give us the project manager's name. We will go kick his a$$, . This is too funny.

Who says you have to move on? Mine are paid for and have been for some time. A long time. 'Ya know, we are not investors. Even if we were, never is there an instant return on a new idea. Actually, I have a rant. All you "are we there yet" "is dinner ready yet" kids are clogging any news on this project. If I were Lori, I would jack the price ten fold as a cost of putting up with whineing. I sure would not check this thread and listen to it. I would be double sure not to say "next week". As a matter of fact, she seems to be a smart woman by not even replying.
Im one of the people who have been quietly monitoring this thread. I dont really think anyone has been out of line. I mean some people are impatient. What is funny is that everyone wants the things done. I mean arent you all on the same side? It appears you just want everyone else to share your views on the way to handle it. News! "It will never happen" trying to change people just gets them going. That being said. All you all straighten up! and Hey where are those Windows!? (those of you who dont know my sense of humor, this is not an attack on anyone.)

Just as an FYI this week I got two sets of blems in the mail from Lori...I know she's out there!
I bought the two sets of blems without tape for $100 each ...I plan on using them on DD cars and this is BY FAR the best deal going. I did have to wait a little before they were shipped but I am happy.
Ok...I'm definitely not in any sort of rush for a set as my car is a long way away from being ready for a set.(see sig banner below, lol).
I applaud you for taking this on.
What I'm wanting...I'm not sure will be available. I like your tinted set...but I don't like that you can still see the dot matrix pattern through the tint. The tint isn't near dark enough for my tastes.I'm wanting a totally blacked out look but still semi transparent(like almost limo tint)...with no logos at all. Is this a possibility?Or do I just need to buy a regular set and tint them myself? I'm worried about that option because I don't think that the tint will be very durable since it will be exposed to the elements.
If tinting them is my only option...i may be interested in a set of the blems...IF you have a set w/o the GT logo.

FYI - I have been waiting since the original batch...
I contacted Lori about a pair of the blems and she gave me a fair price. Nice lady. Admittedly, I decided I'd wait for the final tinted ones. That's REALLY what I want anyway.
Lori, please contact me AS SOON as they come available and you've got one pair sold! Thanks for getting back to me.
