could they be purchased before they get the dot matrix applied. basically just all clear (or tinted) without anything else done to them?
I see no reason why we couldn't do that, I haven't sent any to be formed yet, but will let you know when I do. I would need a deposit on those before we make them, because once they are formed the graphics can not be printed on them. Lori

Actually, the originals made by Lexmar were not Lexan, they were acrylic, Lexan cannot be heat formed, which is why the aftermarket ones available now are flat, they are Lexan. These will also be acrylic, although the acrylic's available now have been greatly improved over the last 15 years. You cannot break Lexan, acrylic can be broken.
Sorry Ms Lori, but Lexan a polycarbonate was used not Acrylic for safety reasons from the factory. Lexan does not shatter like Acrylic in car crashes the main reason for it's use. Lexan delaminates and fissure cracks with sun and heat which is the main problem with the qtr windows, where Acrylic does not. In remanufacturing a type of acrylic called Abcite a polymer was used because it was more scratch resistant and doesn't delaminate or crack like lexan.
I'm all for you doing this and think it's great, god knows we need the suppliers for our cars.
Keep up the good work.

I've bought GT windows from www.fierowarehouse.com and they were very good quality. Someone else get them and were not happy with them? Good price and good service.
But, competition is always a good thing as well.

I have seen these windows, and they are ok and a good substitute - however not good enough for me, since I am trying to keep the factory look on the 88 The tail end is flat , the edges are square (and a few other things that bother me about them, at least in the set that I had in my hands). Originals have a 'dish' like shape, etc. If I wasn't trying to keep the 100% factory look, then I would use these as they are close enough.

Finally found the correct shade of green, it is ordered, the print shop is working on the graphics, as soon as the plastic gets here the print shop is ready to do the graphics on them and then off to be formed, I'm guessing we should have the first ones in about 2 weeks.
Thank You Lori

Would it be any extra to have the panels tinted in a blue color? Let me know and If so put me down for a set. Thanks.
I have to buy the plastic in 4' X 8' sheets, it would be very costly to make 1 set with blue tint, I will be making some with the black tint as several people have asked for them, but unless you are willing to pay for a complete sheet of blue, I will have to say no.
What material will they be made of? The stock windows only last about 2 months in my T-Top V-8 car before they start to crack - probably because of the body flex. I don't have a problem with the windows from the Fiero warehouse, except they don't look as good as stock. I believe they are Lexan.

I will try to keep everyone informed on our progress, right now we are waiting on the plastic we ordered, and waiting on the printers to get the first graphics done, and then we have to have them formed still, so this has become a waiting game for us right now. Lori

I want 2 sets...one tinted with a blue strip in the GT instead of red, and one not tinted with a white strip inside the GT instead of red. Will that be possible??

That should be possible, but before I can take any special orders, I need to get these into production first. The molds should be ready next week, and the plastic should be here next week also. I am expecting to have the first few scrapped before I get everyone involved coordinated, so it will be at least 2 weeks before I will be taking orders, as I will not sell anything until I am happy with them.

If you've got some half decent one's that you're going to toss, I could use a set to replace ones on a car that are in pieces, almost regardless of quiality.

I will keep that in mind as I'm sure there will be some.

Awesome, and if the finish quality sets come out as desired, I will gladly take a pair for my nice car, and suggest one to my father, as his are crazing over bad, Its pretty important to me that the be curved like factory, but it sounds like they'll be perfect.

'86-88 GT Fastback The factory quarter windows on the '86-88 GT are made of cast acrylic (not Lexan as stated by some suppliers, including GM!) and tend to show hazing and cracking similar to sail panels on the notchback Fiero. This is an original GM window after it came out of the mold.

now this is getting even more exciting...some one who is going to make this right and not some cheesey randition that just destroys fast backs most unique lines... thanks for the effort and can't wait to oder.........

i truely hope this becomes reality and not a dead thread like the 200 "reproduction t-top seal" threads that disolve into the archives in silent shame. I want these windows!
Here is an update, the molds are done, and the plastic we ordered came in yesterday, and it is the correct shade of green, so now we have to get to work.

Has a final price been decided yet? I'm putting my T-top in for paint next week and I would sure hate to have to put my old ones back on with the new paint.
