What in the hell is going on? I must have missed something here.
In the morning I have the pleasure of writing a check for material. WOO HOO! I think. Need to run some test batches here pretty quick so they called and said we should order it so it is here by next week. I can't think of anything better than the first batch to come out perfect. Dreaming you say? Yeah I think so too. But it would be cool.
The day we turn out the first 5 I will probably be camped out on their work floor. I won't be any help at all but I'm sure I will be in their way and that kinda makes me a part of it doesn't it?

So....not counting Pokey's 3 sets, we've got 22 DWB requests, and 13 PWB requests...probability adjusted is 29 sets at $300 (estimated). So I think Pokey may actually have a reasonable path towards making his money investment back, just from the Forum.

Pokey- I did not quite understand from this where you are with the project. Does this mean you are in the process of doing the first batch or that it is scheduled?

I could just start running them off right now but I'm not. These will only be for testing. I want to turn a few out to see how they do. I will match them up to the OEM panels and see if there is anything that needs to be modified on the molds. Then I will have them set up in a jig for the cnc trimming. After that is figured and the process recorded in the computer I will shoot them over to the printer for him to mess with. The printer has a digitized format ready but it needs to be tried out and get any bugs worked out before I send production through.
So these will be 5 drivers side sacrificial test pilots. I don't expect they will all make it and I will be happy as can be if only the last one is perfect. If not that would mean that I wasn't happy wqith the results and sent the mold back to be modified. Then off course that is more time. It costs over a thousand dollars just to run a few test pilots down the runway so I really don't want to do this very much.
So the answer to your question is we are in the process of doing the first test batch and I don't know if it will be the last. If all goes well I could see production in 60 days if not just shoot that estimate to hell. IT takes a month to it seems to do anything.
THe process being held up does help in one way though. It gives me time to renew liquid funds so I can siphon and divert them to this project. It has been a very trying year financially. My normal sources of income are a joke. I have been doing work that just a year ago I wouldn't do because it didn't make enough money for the time I put into it. Today it makes enough money because little else does. No need to worry about me having enough money to finish the project though. One way or another everything falls into place sometimes it just needs a kittle extra effort to push things along and I will put out that effort. I know fuel is up and income is hard for people and will keep these costs down for all PFF members. Success is inevitable and the only thing guaranteed about schedules is they will be broken.

As I pour cash in to these cars I often stop and wonder about that exact statement.
You ain't kidding. I could have purchased a nice used NSX or a used RX7 for everything I have into Fieros.
But where is the fun in just having a car. I want a car that gives me fun and a sense that I built it in one way or another. A car that if I total it at the track I can still go out for pizza with the rest of the boys and laugh about it. Then lkaugh even harder when I show up in another one a couple months later. You can't do that with a NSX or an RX7. Our cost for fun ratio is way better than anyone else's. Way better!

I will probably take one set (like original factory GT quarter).
Since I was screwed for more than 300$ too ( The set that originally Robert2 was supposed to purchase from MissLori...I purchased his "place" in the list...so in fact that was my money that was lost in the adventure ), I dont want to commit right now. But I'm in need for a set. I have a replica set, I keep them but only because thats the only option we have. If pokey set are like the factory ones, Its sure I take one set ...but only after I saw several order fulfilled.
First there was a guy who made GT quarter windows by the name of Chris Cook. He did ship but his windows did not have the Original contour. Then there was Doug Kinney from the Fiero warehouse...pretty much same as above but the graphics were better. Next there was MsLoriFiero who took the money and ran. Now we have another individual who is going to reproduce these? When I see it I'll believe it.

Well Ms Lori did produce them and they were pretty good. Others have produced what they could and we're lucky to have that much. I am producing them because for unknown reasons she isn't anymore and we need them. Key here is we need them. Fortunately your belief won't have an impact on the project. I get a bit pissy when someone that is doing nothing positive actually spends the time to write something negative. I mean really man who gives a flying **** about your belief. Would you be happy if I failed. Are you happy that Lori lost her ass. Don't order a set from me. I don't believe your money is worth it.
Pokey, Have you seen the independent movie Max with John Cusack? The only reason I ask, is that I finally saw it today, after saying I had absolutely no interest in seeing it, and there was a quote that immediately came to mind..."Don't be one of those guys who finds a flaw in what was intended to be a sincere compliment".
Thirty-five people think you are brilliant. We all have faith in your efforts and in your unyielding passion to create these soon to be master pieces. What the guy was probably trying to say, is that he's so frustrated with life, his dog chewed his best pair of shoes, he just spent $50 on 12 gallons of gas, his woman has had a "headache" for months, and he just lost a road challenge in his Fiero to a pink Miata...so he thought he'd let you know that only YOU can bring his despair back from the brink, by continuing to stay focused on your project.
Okay...maybe he was just a dick...but everyone else is 100% behind you! Don't get frustrated now!!
P.S. If you aren't a dick (guy pokey just went off on) then I certainly apologize, and hope you'll be able to convince Pokey to sell you a set at some point.

Dennis,
Pokey has committed to SHOWING us the product before he takes any money, so I'm not worried in the least. He is taking what you said into consideration if you ask me by not taking the money until he actually has a good product...
I've read bits and pieces of this thread, but not the whole thing (so maybe the answer to my question is in here somewhere). Are these windows not available from the Fierostore? I assume there is a difference in what is being disscussed here and what seems to be offered from the Fierostore.

Although there are several aftermarket sail panels out there none of them replicate the contours of the originals. Pokey is working on exact duplicates of the originals. They are not available yet.
I have a set of Ms Lori's blems on my car and will be at Michigan for everyone to inspect - look for the green T-Top GT . I'm hoping Pokeyfiero' s windows will be of similar quality and material. The only problem I've had with the blems was trimming them to get the GT logo parallel to the ground. It's really a shame she has been unable to finish the effort - she was definitely trying to do the right thing. They have been on my car for over a year.
