Ah! those. I saw one on Lassie today. Little Timmy was trapped under a fallen branch and then Lassie had to drop a dime into the slot and bark at the operator until she sent help.
Damn, doesnt Lassie know snitches get stitches? She dimed Timmy out!

Any updates yet Pokey? Do you think you might have some at Westfest? Time is short!
MAn every time I think I am getting out from under a mess of financial ruble another ton of monetary blocks comes crashing down.
I just can't let loose the 15 gs for a profitable production. I am willing to sit and wait to recoup but I can't afford to be out the money. This economy is hitting me and all my clients. I'm getting pissed off.
I won't have another large payday until around November. Hopefully it won't go out faster than it comes in.

You've got 40 people on the waiting list to buy at $200 an order that's $8000. Why not charge the $15,000 up front cost and you'd be able to pay off at least half of that before the bill even came. Seems like you would be able to recoup the other $7000 within 4-5 months based on the quality I've seen on this thread. At a 10% rate that's less than $300 in interest on your investment. Seems like a good investment to me.

8 times out of 1o, when you have 1o commit, you end up with 3 that actually pay. There are always those who scream me me me, but when it comes time to pony up they seem to whimper one excuse or another.
IMO, looking for a quick return on a cow that is known not to produce consistently would not be a wise hedge.

In all fairness to those who have said 'will buy' in this particular thread. These windows have been waited for in this thread for years now. Life happens, finances change, bills grow, cars may need repairs, etc. Over a long enough time line the $200-$300 may not always be available. This thread will likely be going for so long into the future before any windows are ever made that some 'will buyers' may actually forget about the thread entirely or may not even have their Fiero anymore if/when the windows come about.
But, yes, a good portion of people who say they will buy and the product is ready shortly after, many go silent and don't show up to buy as they said. Mix that dynamic into this thread and you can bet it only gets worse. Bottom line, don't count on DWB'ers to make back money initially. Plan on selling them one set at a time and if the DWB'ers come through after all, so much the better.

FieroMonkey hit it on the head... I was a DWB, but since the project has been stalled, other priorities have trumped spending in excess of 200 bucks on nice to have windows. I am now a PWB...

Good points. It does seem like there's pent-up demand for these though so I imagine there would be an early rush to get orders and then after a few months would go to the 1-2 items at a time pace. I know I'm tired of looking at my cracked quarters.
Some of the above posts are seriously a real concern that I have pondered over and over.
I am truly sorry that profit is what is getting in the way of this project working but that is the way it is.
I am not going to go over the math here as I don't want to debate it.
I simply can not do this project based on promises of sales of an item that doesn't even have a final selling price. I don't have the available resources I did when I started looking in to this. I am not a risky investor. I will not expend and produce what I can't afford to risk. It is kinda like a gamblers credo.Blow what you can but keep the gas money to get home.
Now as I said before there is no need to not buy alternatives. Something is better than a hole in the side of your car. I even bought a cheap set. I have two sets of OEM. one set brand new and one used but I'll be damned if I use those.
In December Most likely I will turn out the final tests before I make a set run. I am supposed to start getting paid in November from the bankruptcy court on debt owed to me.
Everything in the last couple years has been contingent on someone else paying me what is owed. As everyone knows it has been hard on a lot of people. I am lucky I have done as well as I have considering the businesses I am in (real estate, contracting and retail) have been the worst hit.
PS
no PM's or emails offering money. I am not looking for a partner or accepting any money. Thanks for the thought though it is appreciated.

I'll just simply say that if you make these windows like the Lexamar Corp. once did for GM, I'll gladly buy a set.

Pokey, You have been straight up with everyone from the start. Protect yourself. No need for you to be a casualty just for trying to help out others in the Fiero Community.

I'll say it again....everyone knows where she works and I'm sure it is no problem to drop in on her and...."wake her up" I know that if I lived near there, my ass would be in that shop getting answers.

Just a couple hours drive South of me on the Tennessee/Alabama border. Been there many times. As they say in the South, "I ain't got no dog in that hunt". In English, I never ordered from Ms. Lori, so I have not reason to go there.
Pokey hang in there. It doesn't matter how long this takes, as soon as you provide them for sale, people will come. I'm looking at filing chapter 7 myself now, and they can take the Dodge, but they won't get the Fiero...none of them! And when the time comes, I WILL sell the dog if necessary, to get a set, or two. Great work, from a Great guy!! Thanks...Oh and my son (Daniel says hey) is going to get a set for sure, and more than likely my dad too. It's true, there's got to be at least 5K Fieros that need these.
And as far as Houdini, I honestly can't believe ANYONE would seriously still consider their product, at any price, after seeing those pictures of what you might get, and with the ease at which she seems to disappear....especially after all that talk about taking care of things. As for those who so far are still out money...maybe there is a chance to file charges of mail fraud, which the authorities take very seriously. Guess it's a lesson learned to do a good pre-sale investigation on someone, huh?
Take care all, and keep the faith. I know Pokey will come through!!!!
Yes hang in there. I have finally bought a second Fiero, an 88 GT, after owning my first one for 23 years. This one is an auto for my 16 year old daughter, so I now need two sets.

Pokey I surely hope you can get these done, I would love a set. The set I bought from, was it the Fiero Warehouse? are ok but I would like something better.
God I can't believe this is still going on with Ms Lori., I knew something was fishy back on page 2, and especially after those so called battery relocation trays pieces of crap. I guess I should not be surprised.

We'll I can't wait anymore. I guess that Chris Cook the Modernman on eBay will get the business. He is now advertising "proper curves" so I wonder if he altered the design a bit. I don't want to buy junk that I will later replace but may take a chance. I know that the graphics are good, just wonder if the curvature has improved.

Dennis- I wouldn't count on those "proper curves". That's exactly what his posting on ebay said when I ordered mine. They do have a rolled front edge, but other than that they are flat. When mounted they tend to create a slight dimple conforming to the Fiero mounting location. Not an issue for the OEM windows as they have a sort of convex shape built in.
This is not to take away anything from the Modernman windows. They are the best currently available from what I have seen.

I have done it with an exacto knife with a long blade a steady hand and a bit of dexterity and a whole lot of patience. took a bit of time not to nick the paint on the window.
Gets tricky when you get to the verticle tape that is farther in. You must be carefull to not be tempted to bend the window to try and sneak your cutter in more. I attached mine to a longer rod so i could feed it in and saw gently through the tape.

According to FSM, I think there is supposed to be a piece of nylon embedded in the adhesive tape that you can use to "slice" through the tape. I looked and could not find this so I decided I may use a needle and nylon fishing line to seperate the tape...if you try this before I do....let us know how it works out! My windows are in good shape, but one side is no longer sticking on the bottom side of the window

Don't bother. The line rotted out on pretty much every GT 10 years ago. I have never been able to get a window off this way in junk yards. Some of them were well taken care of cars. and as soon as you give the slightest amoung of pull they snap. Plus the tape was meant to be cut with this line when the tape was still soft. Most original tape is like petrified wood now sadly.
