I was brought a set of windows today to inspect, the tint was perfect to the factory windows, and the graphics were perfect, it needed a little trimming, I will be taking one of my cars to the molding shop this week and leaving it,and the few they have made will be trimmed to fit the car, once they have a perfect fit, they will adjust the routing fixture to trim them all the same Once that is done, they will start on a 50 set order. everything else is ready. I also explained that I needed these for people for Christmas, and was assured they would be ready.

Do you have any guesstimate when you might be running the darker tinted batch??
I have had more requests for that tint than I expected. I told the molding shop this week to include 10 sets of the smoked in the first batch, which they are working on now, and I expect them sometime next week.

Someone else asked this and I thought it was a very good question that didn't gat answered. Will the double sided to attatch these be included? Didn't I hear at some point too that GM used 3M aircraft tape or something? Because I think of all the problems the origionals had, the coming off was not one of them.

Tape to install the windows will be included, and it is the same 3M tape GM used to install them. Instructions on how to install them will also be included.

I cant remember how many times i have met Fiero owners who have notchbacks that have told me, "I would buy a fastback if it weren't for the fact that you cant get replacement tail lights or sail windows"
Well, after these windows are ready along with fierostores tail lights, it will be interesting to see if demand for fastbacks increases a bit over this next year. /shrug
still cant get these windows soon enough, dont think i have ever checked a thread as much as this one....well, with the exception of the girls and fieros thread...but this thread is a close second

Yes, I talked to the molding shop today. They are working on a 50 set order, they have about 20 of one side done and will do all 50 of one side, then set up and do the other side. The waiting is hard on me too. I wish they would hurry.

Yes, I will notify everyone that has emailed me wanting a set as well as postings it here. No, 50 sets will not be enough, but I have invested several thousand dollars into this project, and I still have to buy those windows before I can sell them, and that is all my bank account will allow until most of these are sold. Once they are sold, I will order more.

I just talked to them today, they have most of one side done and will be starting on the other side tomorrow. I am sorry it is taking so long, but they are being extra careful making sure they all fit since this is the first production run, one of my cars is there at the molding shop so they can actually fit them to a car. There is more work to making these than it seems.

The people making the windows ended up 2 people short this week, I will probably go there and work and do what I can on Monday and try to get these windows done by Friday. Sorry for all of the delays, but it isn't me holding things up.

I am sorry, but I won't have any smoked until after the 1st, we ordered the plastic, but it didn't come in time to get them made before Christmas. Although I will have 20 sets of the factory tint by this Friday.

Whats the type of material used for these reproduction? acrylic, plexi, polycarbonate or something else....I just need to know if the properties of the material in the weather (scratch and freeze) and UV are at least equal or better than the material used for the original quarter from GM . Also the paint used for the backing and the GT logo is UV resistant and automotive grade (to avoid rapid discoloration or peeling)?

These windows are made using the same type of material as the original windows, Cast Acrylic, and they are the same thickness as the original windows. Now I know I am going to get some disagreements over that, as a lot of people think they were made with Lexan, They were Not. And there is no paint on these, all of the graphics are screen printed on using high temp ink. These windows are so close to the factory windows, that it would be hard for most people to tell they are not.

Ive seen these numorous times now, and ive seen some NOS 1/4 windows, and MsLoris windows look 100% better than the NOS GM windows. Im contemplating selling my turbo scoops for a set of the tinted 1/4s, those look good!
Keith, I'm not sure using NOS windows to base our standards on is appropriate. Acrylic and Polymer processes have improved so much over the past 20 years, I should think Lori's windows would easily be the victor in a side by side comparison. I know I'm willing to invest the extra money to find out. She has earned my respect with her attention to details.
