On 09-06-06 I posted that anyone that is interested to being on my waiting list, to please email me at this address, Fierosolutions@aol.com so that I can keep track of them better, a lot of people did, and I have been notifying those people first. They are working on my first order of 50 sets, but I will only get 20 of those sets this week. The rest will be made after the 1st as everyone including me is taking a very deserved vacation the week between Christmas and New Years, but I will be home packing those 20 sets. I would still prefer people to email me, it is much easier to keep track of that way.
Lori

Darn... if I could afford them I'd be getting my name on that list right now! In the meantime, my credit card is stretched to its limit, and my driver's side window is almost completely cracked in half... Ah well.
Put me down on that "If there are any left in a few months" list!
GREAT work too, by the way!! Love the look. Just like the original!

...getting a little discouraged. Anything happening with these yet? thought things were going to really get rolling after the week between X-mas and newyears. My cracked and busted out windows have really outstayed their welcome.

I had to return the sets I picked up 2 weeks ago because they were not trimmed right, and since the molding shop was closed for vacation between Christmas and New Years they had to do them this week, I picked them up on Friday, and I will be sorting and packing them this weekend. I know this is getting frustrating, but I will only accept the ones that are right. Although I do have some sets that will be sold as seconds, these were all made during the setup process and are not perfect, some are trimmed a little short, some have the graphics off center, meaning the border around the dot matrix is not equal all of the way around. They are all usable for those that just want a cheap set. I need $100 a set for these, plus shipping. These will all be sold "AS IS" This is only to recover the cost of the materials.Once these seconds are gone, there will never be any more seconds sold. Anyone that wants these winows, please email me at Fierosolutions@aol.com

I am very sorry for the delay. I had to return the 20 sets I received before Christmas because they were trimmed too short. The molding shop took the week off between Christmas and New Years, so I had to wait until after the 1st to return them. They are making the replacements now. Hopefully I will have them all next week, I tried to get them this week, but they were doing inventory, and not running. I am sorry I haven't been on the computer lately because I have a bad case of the flu right now. but I assure you that this is not a scam, and I won't send my customers windows that are not right.
Thank You Lori

yikes all 20 sets trimmed too short? you would think they would have had a set or two ready for your approval before they cut all 20 sets
what were they thinking...(bows and shakes head in silence) do these guys have an actual oem set on hand to compare theirs to? there isn't much to trimming these things, either they are the same exact shape and size as the originals or they aren't. As a prof shop they should know how to determine that before cranking out a mess of 20 incorrect sets.
The set you showed a couple of pages back looked fantastic, I just can't imagine how these guys could have gone so wrong from those to these 20 sets. If I were you I would be piping mad pissed, but not so much so that they wont make the windows right the next time
Good luck MsLori, believe it that we are all pulling for you on this one!

I sure hope you don't have the flu bug I'm still trying to recover from. The wife and I both got this nasty bug right after Christmas and we are both still not 100%
Don't get discouraged Lori. I'm Director of R&D and new product development with my company. We do between 4-6 brand new products per year. I have a staff of 5 product engineers and 3 manufacturing engineers. We always seem to have at least one product that fights us all the way to launch and even after, and we are professionals at this and do it full time. I really admire your dedication and determination to do this sort of project. The very worst thing you can do is rush a sloppy product to market. Ignore the outside pressure from the critics and onlookers, get it right and all those nay-sayers and doubters will miraculously vanish. (Just my little pep talk for the day...hope you're feeling better real soon)

I received an email from Lori about a week ago, stating that the batch she'd hoped was perfect was trimmed poorly, so it was back to the drawing board awaiting a new production run. I'm trying very hard to be patient. (sigh)

We are not going to put the windows on until after a spring paint job. But...

Well here is my situation, I contracted this molding shop back in may to produce these windows for me. And I have been waiting just like everyone has on them. He made me 2 sample windows to begin with, which I approved. Unfortunately he has not produced a run of these that I have accepted, and he has no excuse for it, I have provided everything I can to make sure he has what he needs, to make these windows. Since I returned the 20 sets, he has been avoiding me and seems to have put me behind other work he has, this is not fair to me or everyone here that has been waiting for so long. I have avoided going over his head on this for the reason of starting a feud, but I did this past week. I was assured by his "boss" that this situation will be resolved, and that he was not aware of this problem, and that it would be taken care of. If they don't resolve it soon, I will not have any choice but to cancel this project and return the payments to those that have sent it in, and hire an attorney. I am very sorry for this, but my promises have been dependant on someone else's promises, and he has not kept his promise to me. I didn't really want to post this information online, and wanted to get it resolved without having to do it, but people deserve to know what the hold up is.

i am a pesamist by nature and would have to say I had serious doubts this would ever happen. Not because of mslori, but because this has been attempted about a dozen times by other people with the same results. it falls apart. I will say that this time has been the closest so far.
I have decided i am going to bump this thread to page one over and over until either I die of old age, or someone makes these windows.
I still am rooting for you mslori, im just not getting my hopes up to high

She has already produced excelent windows. She can and has done it. It is just a matter of production now and I believe she can do it.
For those that believe this is taking to long I suggest you consider there is no other GT window made to this standard and it will be worth the wait. I too will wait.

you missunderstand what i meant. i was refering the the success or failure as in windows available for people to buy, not 1 set produced. I took that last message from mslori as a somewhat dismal outlook as to the possibility of there ever being windows made for the rest of us. Shuffling the entire job to the back burner, production company avoiding the client, having to go over management heads to get answers, contracts not being honored...these things do not sound the least bit promising to me. perhaps you read it differently than i did
dont get me wrong, i too will be keeping my fingers crossed. i have 2 fastbacks that need these badly, the pictures of the one set that was completed looked/looks absolutely incredible and i would love to put these sets on my Fieros.

And I am an optimist, and very stubborn. If they don't get them right soon, I will. I will buy my own machine and produce them myself, so if anyone wants to buy my 2 cars to help finance this project, it will continue. The cars I have for sale are my one of a kind GT station wagon. The other one is an solid white 87 GT with a series one 3800 SC in it. I don't have pictures of the white car, but can go down to the molding shop where it is and get some. If anyone is interested, I need $3000 for the station wagon and $4000 for the SC white 87 GT.

Dang MsLori, looks like there is hope yet. I would love to see more pics and info on the 3800 sc fiero you have. if i dont buy it for myself, i would be happy to help find it a good home if it will help this project become a success.
