I make them on a per-order basis. Too busy to make them ahead of time & keep them in stock. I'm working on my VW project (not near as much as I'd like) https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/104961.html , rebuilding an engine on a '64 Dart GT (then I have to finish assembling the car/chrome), restoring a '63 Dart GT from the ground up, rebuilding the front suspension/K member & lotsa other detailing on a '75 Dart Hang Ten, & hoping to get back to work on my custom Fiero (if I ever get the 3800 SC that is supposed to have been delivered already).
But I can make one at any time. PM me & I'll send you my address (need a POSTAL money order).
Thanks,
~ Paul

Thanks for that Dean. Got the daily looking good; I was checking out the pics on the Ga. club board.
Monk; it's really very little that has to be cut out. Maybe I'll make a revised version (a little shorter) that eliminates that. It wouldn't look as good, though, IMO.

Did you ever make a shorter one that doesn't require cutting the front trunk?

Not yet. I could if I had about 4 or 5 people committed (as in small deposit) to make it worthwhile.

I get a lot of "fairly interested" people. Most of them (about 95%) never come forward with any money, even if I go through with something like this on my end. I'd rather work on one of my far-too-far-behind eight projects than make a scoop & mold for no reason.

If 5 folks sent $50 I could jump right on it.
I may start on it anyway, but I have a LOT to do (with 8 projects) so it'll take longer without any money. I really need the money right now, too, as my brother has run out (been working on his cars). So I need some work or income from somewhere...

cutting the front area is not a big deal...
i actually cut mine about 1/4 larger and used pieces of the old trunk seal to seal around the scoop

100 thumbs up to a great product... awsum instructions and incredible communication

I initially was thinking that would be excellent because I don't want to cut my Fiero's front trunk opening either (even if it's easy to do), but I thought it only prudent to first ask you to clarify specifically what you were referring to when you said the revised version could be made a "a little shorter."

I've always assumed that you'd been referring to the vent opening having a shallower depth to it --- that is, not having as tall a vent opening as it has had in the past --- but I thought it best that I'd confirm that with you first, rather than assume I truly knew what you meant when you said a revised version could be made that is "a little shorter."

By the way, I've always thought that everything else about your hood vent design --- where it's located on the Fiero's hood, the two small curves at the lowermost part of the vent opening which nicely mirror the small curves of the lowermost part of the Fiero's headlight doors, and even the small lip surrounding your hood vent's opening --- all look to me like they purposefully were designed to be there in the first place, something I think is exemplified nicely in whodeanie's photo, below:

The front part will remain the same depth. I'd have to shorten the back by about 4 inches to not interfere with the "trunk" gasket. EDIT: It would take more than 4" - not sure if it'd look good at all that short. May still come up with alternatives, though. Thinking of raising the whole area a little...

Thanks. As I've said before, I made it to look right (with all the features you mentioned plus the little lips on each side of the opening) as #1 priority. A shorter one will not look quite as good, but I understand the folks that don't want to cut the sheetmetal - in spite of the fact that even if you don't seal it back up it doesn't hurt.

Bump: need work/money at this time so if anyone wants a hood vent let me know. I'm also working on 1/4s with MR2 "scoops", & some Firebird-based fender vents.

Hi Paul,

Any chance to verify if the roof glass will fit on the stock perches in the front compartment with your vent? If not, do you see any easy way to mod the stock glass perch locations to make it work?

Thanks,

Charlie

OK I finally checked & the glass is just a little too close to work without further mods. May be able to move the front mounts down a tad, if it clears the spare.
Will it fit in the trunk?

Again, I know you're not supposed to cross-post, but this is directly related to this thread (as it is others).

I suppose I could make it more legit by mentioning that the Version 2.0 hood vent is ready to pull the mold, & it doesn't require you to cut the sheetmetal & the sunroof will fit.

The new website is up! There is a new URL - http://angelonearth.net/customfiberglass/ - but the old link has a redirect for those that bookmarked it.
Old link: http://angelonearth.net/customfiberglass.html
In fact, I'd appreciate it if a few folks would check back with me on a few things, since I don't have all my computers hooked up for testing: Go to the old link.
1) Did the redirect work?
2) Did the page display properly?
3) Did the photo script open in a trick little window when you clicked on a thumbnail?
4) What did you think of the site? Easy to navigate? Everything clear to understand (downloads & such)? Look good?
Please tell me your operating system, browser (& version), & perhaps your screen resolution.
THANKS!

Thanks,
There seems to be some interest in it. At least I've sold 2 so far which is better than the ONE "Driven Visions" louver that I've sold after about 60 hours of R&D & a $500 investment in materials...

That is the original one with which you have to cut 2" of the trunk sheetmetal. The version 2.0 actually has a bigger hole & you don't have to cut the sheetmetal. Check the website for details.
They do allow some serious airflow.
